Adam Cole, the reigning TNT Champion in All Elite Wrestling, shared his thoughts on his title reign during a recent interview on Grapsody, just days before his defense at AEW All In: Texas. When asked to grade his performance as champion, Cole confidently awarded himself an A, reflecting a sense of pride mixed with a readiness for future challenges.
Proud of His Title Defenses So Far
Cole highlighted several of his recent matches, including defenses against top competitors like Josh Alexander and Claudio. Though his bout with Kyle Fletcher ended in a disqualification, he remains satisfied with how he has retained the TNT Championship.
“I’m very proud of the defenses that I’ve had,”
he explained.
“Whether it was against Josh Alexander, Claudio, the Kyle match didn’t end the way I wanted to and ended in a disqualification, but as far as me holding onto this championship, being proud of this championship, and looking into the future of all the title defenses I want to have, I’m giving myself an A.”
Focusing on the Championship and Upcoming Challenges
Currently, Cole’s primary focus is on maintaining his status as TNT Champion, with little distraction from other matters except supporting his allies known as the Paragon. He stressed his full commitment by saying,
“I take full pride in being champion. I’m not focused on anything else right now except for being TNT Champion. I am thinking about my boys in the Paragon as well, but as far as championship gold, I’m just focused on that.”
Looking ahead past his scheduled match with Kyle Fletcher, Cole indicated he is preparing for any future challengers, including those from the Don Callis Family or unexpected contenders. In his words,
“We’re in the process, and this thing is just getting kick-started. After I beat Kyle, I’m going to focus on my next challenger, whether it’s other members of the Don Callis Family or people I’m not even thinking of. I’m ready to defend this title against anyone and everyone.”
Implications for AEW All In: Texas
This weekend’s AEW All In event will see Adam Cole put his TNT Championship on the line against Kyle Fletcher in what promises to be a high-stakes confrontation. The outcome will likely influence the direction of the title’s storyline and Cole’s reign moving forward. Fans and analysts alike are eager to witness whether Cole’s self-assigned grade reflects his continued dominance.
