The idea of Dominik Mysterio holding a world championship in WWE is gaining serious traction as he enjoys his best year yet in 2025. Having captured both the WWE Intercontinental Championship and AAA’s Mega Championship, Mysterio’s momentum in the wrestling world is undeniable. Following his successful defense of the Intercontinental title against Rusev on this week’s RAW, WWE star Big E shared his views on Mysterio’s rapid ascent and potential future within the company.
Big E’s Perspective on Dominik’s Potential
Big E acknowledged Dominik’s remarkable charisma and natural star quality but expressed reservations about some of his methods. Despite this, Big E envisions Mysterio as a key figure in WWE for years to come, possibly leading the promotion for the next 15 years. Three or four years ago, Big E himself would have found the idea of labeling Dominik a “future world champion” laughable, but that perspective has clearly shifted.
The thought of putting the label ‘future world champion’ on Dominik Mysterio three years ago, four years ago… laughable. I’d laugh you out of the building,
Big E said.
But now? Is this outside of the realm of possibility? Not at all. In fact, I would be surprised if Dominik Mysterio doesn’t hold a world championship within the next five years.
When asked by Sam Roberts whether he referred specifically to WWE’s world championship or included other titles like the AAA Mega Championship, Big E confirmed he meant the WWE world title.
Looking Ahead: What Dominik’s Future Might Hold
Mysterio’s accomplishments in 2025 signal a turning point in his career, as he gains recognition within WWE and internationally. Big E’s acknowledgment of his potential world championship future adds weight to the discussions surrounding Dominik’s role in WWE’s long-term plans. As Roman Reigns makes his return and other storylines develop on RAW, Dominik appears poised to become an increasingly prominent figure within the company’s hierarchy.
