Bobby Lashley, a prominent AEW wrestler, has been off weekly shows since the Full Gear pay-per-view event last November, where he appeared in the Casino Gauntlet Match to crown the first AEW National Champion. Ricochet was the eventual winner of that match. Lashley’s injury was publicly acknowledged in December 2025 when MVP, manager of the Hurt Syndicate, revealed on AEW television that Lashley was sidelined due to health issues.
The Almighty’s Road to Recovery and Future Plans
In a recent interview with Monopoly Sports, Lashley confirmed that he has fully recovered from his injury and is eager to return to AEW programming. He expressed his intention to challenge for the AEW World Trios Championship alongside Shelton Benjamin and MVP. Currently, Hangman Page, Kevin Knight, and Mike Bailey hold those titles.
Team Dynamics and Championship Ambitions
Discussing his future with his group, Lashley emphasized the strong bond shared among his teammates and their determination to reclaim success.
“When we get back, between Shelton and MVP, we want to do things collectively and want to do things as a group. I think we’re going to go after the trios guys. Let’s see what we can do with those guys. That’s what we need. The crowd loves us over there. We have the opportunity to bring back what we had before, and it’s real. We have a great group, and we’re all friends and pull for each other. Anytime one of us is done, the other pulls them up. Right now, they are pulling me up and yanking me back in. ‘We’re ready to go back out there and win some titles.’ I’m healed. Everybody thought I was hurt. I’m not hurt. You can’t hurt the Almighty,”
Lashley said.
Looking Ahead to Lashley’s Return
Lashley’s recovery and enthusiasm suggest he will soon rejoin AEW’s competitive scene, aiming to elevate his faction’s standing by targeting the World Trios Championship. His return not only revitalizes his team but also adds fresh momentum to AEW’s tag team division as fans anticipate a heated pursuit of the titles.
