Booker T Praises Trick Williams WWE Mentorship Success

Booker T recently expressed pride in Trick Williams‘ progress, acknowledging his role in the young wrestler’s success within WWE. Since joining WWE NXT, Williams has credited Booker T as a key mentor, a sentiment that the two-time Hall of Famer warmly embraced.

Encouragement and Wisdom Shared with Trick Williams

In an interview on Hall of Fame, Booker T highlighted how hearing Williams’ appreciation made him feel valued. He explained that staying relevant in wrestling often requires supporting new talent and praised Williams for his strong understanding of the industry. Booker T advised Williams early on that excellence in wrestling goes beyond just being the best technical performer, a lesson Williams is applying effectively.

It make me feel good [to hear Williams praise him]. Like I always say, you know, to stay relevant these days, it may take somebody else, some young cat that’s out there shining, you know, doing their thing. And Trick right now [is] doing his thing, man. He’s doing a hell of a job too, as far as understanding what the business is about. I told Trick a long time ago, you don’t have to be the best wrestler to be the best wrestler. And he’s definitely taking that advice and running with it,

said Booker T on Hall of Fame.

Getting to see a guy, a young guy out there that’s, you know, paying homage to kind of like, you know, the way I did it, but upping the game, you know, even more so, that’s what I love about it as well.

Passing Down Knowledge to the Next Generation

Booker T feels a strong responsibility to support upcoming stars like Trick Williams by helping them avoid pitfalls in their wrestling careers. He takes satisfaction in seeing Williams respect traditional wrestling styles while evolving his own persona to fit the current landscape.

It just lets me know that I did my job a long time ago because Trick was watching me, now I’m still doing my job trying to guide these young men in the right direction [and] make them avoid those landmines at the same time and you know still be a part of you know what they’re doing.

The Ongoing Impact of Mentorship in WWE

By mentoring rising stars like Trick Williams, Booker T helps ensure that the legacy and values of professional wrestling continue to thrive. His involvement not only supports Williams’ growth but also inspires others in WWE NXT and beyond to blend respect for tradition with innovative approaches. This mentorship reflects a vital aspect of sustaining success in WWE and cultivating future champions.
