Brian Cage, a prominent AEW wrestler, has been sidelined since April after undergoing surgery on both knees. His recovery timeline remains uncertain, and there is no confirmed date for his return to the wrestling company. Recently, Cage appeared on the All F’N Wrestling Show to talk about his injury status and potential plans for his comeback.
Unclear Plans for Cage’s Return to AEW
During the podcast, Cage expressed uncertainty about any storyline or creative direction related to his eventual return. He stated,
“I have no idea about any sort of creative plans for our return at all at this point,”
highlighting the unpredictability surrounding his future in AEW.
He further explained,
“I mean, I guess anything could be possible… There’s a whole wide open of versatility of what could happen, because there’s nothing set in stone at all for when I’m coming back or what I’m going to do when I come back. I’m not telling anybody that I don’t want anybody to have an inkling.”
This suggests that neither Cage nor AEW have solidified how he will be reintegrated into the company’s programming.
Return Date Remains a Mystery
Cage emphasized the lack of a clear timeline for his comeback, adding,
“I want everybody to have no idea of, ‘Oh, maybe around this time,’ because it might be next week, next year, or I don’t know. Who knows?”
The uncertainty underscores the difficulty Cage faces in planning both his recovery and his professional future in wrestling.
Implications for AEW and Fans
Cage’s ongoing absence leaves AEW without one of its key performers, with no clear indication of when he will be able to compete again. Fans and the company alike are left waiting as his rehabilitation continues without a defined schedule. His comments reveal the complexity of injury recovery and how it affects creative decisions in wrestling promotions.
