Brock Lesnar and Daughter Make NCAA History With Rare Father-Daughter Championship Milestone

Published:

Brock Lesnar and his daughter, Mya Lesnar, have set a remarkable milestone as they become just the second father-daughter pair ever to secure NCAA championship titles. The story highlights how Brock Lesnar and daughter make NCAA history at a time when Lesnar remains absent from WWE following controversy within the organization.

Record-Breaking NCAA Achievements by the Lesnar Family

The Lesnar family reached new heights when Mya Lesnar, age 23, clinched her second NCAA title by winning the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championship for 2025. This prestigious achievement adds to Brock Lesnar’s 2000 title in NCAA Heavyweight Wrestling, making them one of only two known father-daughter pairs to win NCAA championships in different sports and eras.

The only other family to claim such a record was Jerry Tarr and his daughter Sheila Tarr. Jerry secured NCAA victories in the 120 and 440-yard hurdles in 1962, while Sheila triumphed in the heptathlon in 1984. Dave Meltzer, reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, was among the first to underline the significance of the Lesnar duo’s achievement, describing it as a major record for NCAA athletics and family legacy.

Brock Lesnar’s WWE Hiatus and Recent History

Brock Lesnar has not appeared for WWE since his name arose in the Janel Grant lawsuit involving allegations of sexual assault and trafficking related to Vince McMahon. In response, WWE removed all visible links to The Beast Incarnate and canceled his upcoming storylines. The ongoing absence from the Stamford-based promotion remains a subject of attention while attention has shifted toward his and his daughter’s accomplishments outside the ring.

Omos Recalls His Experience Training With Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar’s influence extends beyond his own achievements, as WWE star Omos recently shared recollections of rehearsal sessions ahead of their WrestleMania 39 encounter. On Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Omos highlighted the physical intensity and unique athleticism Lesnar brings to the wrestling ring.

“Brock, he’s a specimen. I wasn’t worried at all. People forget he’s a farm boy. He throws hay for a living. So him picking me up at 300-400 pounds. I knew he was gonna be able to do that. If Bobby can pick me up, I knew he could. That was my first time ever taking a suplex. Never taken it in training, never done it in PC, not from anyone. That’s the first time I ever took it in German suplex was during that match. That F5 was easy. The Germans sucked. But for the first time in my entire life, I never felt someone hook me that way, and I could feel the muscles contract when he picked me up. For the first time I felt that ‘Oh sh*t, I can’t do anything.’”

Continuing Impact and Recognition for the Lesnars

The milestone set by Brock and Mya Lesnar stands as a rare feat in NCAA history, linking both their personal dedication to athletics over decades. Their accomplishment may inspire future generations to pursue excellence not only in the ring or on the track, but wherever athletic drive is nurtured within families. As the Lesnars join the Tarrs as exclusive members of a highly selective group, the impact of their dual championship legacy will likely be celebrated in both NCAA and wrestling circles for years to come.
