Bryan Danielson Hints at Wrestling Comeback Despite Neck Issues

Bryan Danielson has not ruled out the possibility of returning to wrestling, despite the spinal degeneration that has caused him to step back from in-ring competition. During a February 9, 2026 interview with Justin Barrasso, Danielson offered his most optimistic update since revealing the severity of his neck condition last year. He acknowledged that traveling for AEW commentary has worsened his symptoms but hinted at a faint chance of making a comeback.

“I don’t close it off,” he said, addressing the potential for a wrestling comeback. “Maybe.”

Physical Therapy Brings Hope Amid Struggles

A surprising development came when Danielson credited fellow wrestler Adam Copeland for connecting him with a physical therapist who significantly improved his condition. In April 2025, after intensive sessions with this therapist, Danielson experienced better sleep and relief from his struggles.

“In April of 2025, Adam Copeland sent me to his physical therapist,” Danielson revealed. “He said the guy was a miracle worker. This guy worked on me for two days in a row, six hours each day. After the first night, I slept nine hours straight. After the second night, I slept eight hours straight. After that, I was sleeping seven or eight hours almost every night. That’s a game changer for how you feel.”

Challenges of Travel and Reflections on Retirement

Last year during an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Danielson discussed the toll that constant travel for AEW commentary had taken on his body, complicating thoughts of a return to wrestling. Despite these difficulties, he remains reluctant to fully embrace retirement, especially since his previous departure was forced rather than voluntary.

“I had these delusions of, ‘Okay, maybe I can get back and do a little bit of wrestling.’ Now I see that they really are delusions, because this traveling is like… this is not a good idea. I hate the r-word because I was forced to retire before,” he said. “I never consider myself fully retired.”

Renewed Interest in a Possible Final Run

Danielson’s cautious openness about returning to action has sparked renewed speculation and excitement among fans. Known as the American Dragon, he has a reputation for overcoming obstacles, leading many to wonder if a final run in the ring might still be on the horizon. Despite the uncertainty, his remarks have given supporters something meaningful to hold onto.

As Bryan Danielson navigates his health and career decisions, the wrestling community watches closely to see if the seasoned performer will step back into the ring one last time or continue to build his legacy from outside it.
