As former AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson begins his media tour in Australia for AEW, he was asked if there is anything left on his Bryan Danielson wrestling bucket list. His response was clear and decisive: there is nothing left for him to accomplish in wrestling.
Danielson explained that he feels fortunate to have experienced so many incredible moments throughout his career. He recalled how, after being forced to retire during his WWE tenure, he wasn’t ready to step away from wrestling, unlike now when he has his wife Brie Garcia and their children in his life.
Career Reflections and Current Involvement in Wrestling
Discussing the final months of his wrestling career, Danielson said,
“With the last six months of my wrestling career being in as much pain as I was, that put me in this thing of ‘I think I’m ready to be done,’”
he said.
“I’m very fulfilled by my career, very fulfilled by my life right now, and I still get to stay involved with professional wrestling which is something I love to this day.”
His full-time in-ring career wrapped up after he lost the AEW World Championship at AEW WrestleDream in October 2024 to Jon Moxley. Although Danielson has recently appeared physically on AEW and ROH shows, such as All In: Texas, there is no sign of a wrestling comeback, as he now focuses on backstage roles and commentary.
Passions Beyond Wrestling and Mentoring Younger Talent
When asked about potential acting ambitions, Danielson revealed his interests lie near home, with entertainment limited to reading and watching wrestling. On his flight to Australia, he watched classic wrestling matches to find inspiration and share lost techniques with younger talent.
Danielson expressed excitement about the wealth of quality wrestling available today, saying he enjoys immersing himself in matches he missed during his youth. This passion fuels his guidance for emerging wrestlers.
Upcoming Appearances in Australia
Danielson is set to continue promoting AEW events Grand Slam Australia and House Rules Brisbane over the coming days, remaining active in supporting the growth of professional wrestling in the region.
