During a recent episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray weighed in on the possibility of a future showdown between Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi after both appeared in the 2026 Men’s Royal Rumble match. Despite the growing interest in such a bout, Bully Ray expressed that the timing is not appropriate for this conflict to take place.
He explained that Oba Femi has yet to establish enough credibility in the wrestling world to be a serious contender against someone of Lesnar’s stature. According to Bully Ray, Lesnar is aware of this credibility gap, which makes a match between the two difficult to justify at this point.
“It’s much too soon for Brock and Oba, in my opinion. Oba is not credible enough yet, and Brock knows this. It’s going to be very hard. Oba is not credible enough for Brock right now,”
Bully Ray stated.
Why Brock Lesnar Should Face GUNTHER Before Oba Femi
Bully Ray also advocated for WWE to prioritize booking matches between Brock Lesnar and GUNTHER. He believes that GUNTHER possesses the necessary credibility to be a formidable opponent for Lesnar and could be featured in multiple high-profile contests.
While acknowledging the potential for a Lesnar vs. Oba Femi encounter in the future, Bully Ray emphasized the current gap in Oba’s standing and advised patience in building his profile further.
“I don’t see why you couldn’t get two matches out of Brock and GUNTHER. I think you could. I could never say ‘Absolutely not, they would not do Brock and Oba.’ I couldn’t say that because they could. I feel that it’s much too soon for Oba as far as the credibility of having a shot of beating Brock Lesnar. GUNTHER has been built to be credible enough to defeat Brock. Oba still has a ways to go,”
Bully Ray commented.
Chris Jericho Reflects on Career Highlights and Acting Ambitions
In a separate interview with Loaded World, AEW star Chris Jericho looked back at key moments in his wrestling career while revealing his aspirations to expand into acting. Jericho identified several defining events, such as headlining the Tokyo Dome main event with Kenny Omega during his time in NJPW and his WrestleMania 19 match against Shawn Michaels. He also highlighted his role in launching AEW and its subsequent success.

Jericho shared that he already has four acting projects completed, including the upcoming Apple TV series Margo’s Got Money Troubles, slated to premiere in April. Other projects in his pipeline reportedly include the sports film The Walk-Ons and the psychological horror movie Self Storage.
Discussing his desire to pursue acting further, Jericho said,
“I’d like to do more acting. If you can make it to a high level in wrestling- and I think I have- and you’re playing a character, that’s acting. I have about four acting projects in the can, waiting to go at the moment.”
Reflecting on his proudest moments, he added,
“If I had to pinpoint anything…headlining the Tokyo Dome with Kenny Omega, starting AEW and seeing it become such a success, stealing the show with Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania XIX and drawing 1,000 tickets for the first time in Nottingham.”
Recent WWE Event Highlights and Related Developments
Beyond the discussion of potential wrestling matchups, the wrestling industry recently witnessed several notable events. Mr. Anderson captured the vacant JCW Title following Matt Cardona’s WWE comeback, underscoring shifts among the roster’s upper echelon. In a tragic turn, a WWE talent lost four family members in a house fire, a somber reminder of the personal challenges faced behind the scenes.
Meanwhile, TNA Wrestling filed a lawsuit against Gail Kim, stirring controversy within the wrestling community. Additionally, spoilers have emerged regarding a major title match planned for the 2026 WWE Elimination Chamber, although specific details remain confidential.
Significance and Potential Impact on Wrestling Storylines
Bully Ray’s perspective on the Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi fight highlights an ongoing debate about how to effectively build new talent against established stars. Oba Femi’s rise appears promising but calls for strategic pacing to ensure credibility when facing top-tier wrestlers like Lesnar. Meanwhile, GUNTHER’s positioning as a legitimate threat to Lesnar suggests WWE’s focus on realistically elevating challengers before facilitating blockbuster showdowns.
As the 2026 wrestling calendar progresses, how WWE navigates these rivalries will influence fan interest and storyline development. The gradual buildup of stars like Oba Femi could shape future marquee matches that resonate with audiences in the long term.
At the same time, Chris Jericho’s ongoing success across wrestling and acting contributes to a broader narrative of wrestlers branching into entertainment fields beyond the squared circle. This diversification exemplifies the evolving careers of prominent performers in the wrestling business.
