Chelsea Green Reveals Maxxine Dupri Faced Same Fairmont Snub

Chelsea Green has reopened discussion about the Fairmont Hotel incident in New York City from early 2024, clarifying that Maxxine Dupri was with her that night and suffered the same exclusion. The situation involved being denied entry to the Fairmont Plaza Hotel’s lobby bar, with Green stating the hotel wrongly profiled them as escorts. This Fairmont controversy remains significant, with the focus keyword Maxxine Dupri Fairmont Incident central to renewed attention.

Details of the Incident Inside the Fairmont Lobby Bar

During Green’s appearance on the podcast A Shot of Brandi, she shared what transpired that evening. After entering the hotel lobby with Dupri, they approached the bar and were abruptly stopped by security staff. Green recalled the bouncers blocking their way without prior warning.

“So we go in, we walk up to the bar, which is like right in the lobby. Like we walk up to the entrance of the bar. The bouncers are standing on either side. They don’t say anything. Like we walk in, we walk through and then they go, ‘Hey, hey, hey, hey, you!’ I’m like, ‘oh’, and we like turn around and we’re like, ‘yes?’ They’re like, ‘where do you think you’re going,’ and we’re like ‘going to the bar for a drink?’ and they’re like you’re not allowed in here and I’m like ‘what? What do you mean?’ I didn’t know what was going on and they were like, ‘only guests of the hotel are allowed’ and I’m like okay, like I’ve done this before but okay and they’re like being so rude and literally Maxxine is like, ‘I don’t understand, like I don’t understand why you’re being so rude,’ and I’m like trying to figure out what’s going on.”

This encounter left both women confused and frustrated, especially as Green had visited this hotel before without issue.

Dupri’s Experience: Silenced But Not Forgotten

Green made it clear that Maxxine Dupri was also refused entry but did not publicly comment at the time. She described Dupri as sweet and unwilling to make a fuss, which contributed to her silence. Green emphasized their shared experience to highlight that the problem extended beyond just her.

“I walked in the front door. Keep in mind, like I have gone to this hotel with my dad, you know what I mean? Like whenever we’re in New York, like we go and like have a little drink or whatever. Cute little vibe, and I was with Maxxine (Dupri). So we go in, (did Maxxine get kicked out too?) Yes, but she’s so like sweet that she never spoke up about it. So just know that everything that happened to me also happened to Maxxine.”

Intervention by a Hotel Guest and Ongoing Assumptions

The situation escalated until a hotel guest intervened, defending Green and Dupri’s right to enter the bar as guests of the hotel. Despite this, Green revealed that the security personnel had already formed prejudiced assumptions about them, mistakenly believing they were escorts.

“Then a hotel guest comes through and sees that this is happening and says to the bouncer, it’s like, ‘no, they’re fine. They can come and have a drink at the bar. I’ll let them in. I’m staying.’ So then he really thinks we’re escorts, but he already- it was so obvious. He already thought that just the way he was treating us before. He goes like- ‘I know what you guys are doing here’ Like all that stuff. Like it was so presumptuous, and the fact that there’s no way that they would tell a hotel guest, that a hotel guest cannot bring a guest in.”

Green said this presumption fed into the rude treatment they received, which was not justified by their actual status as legitimate guests.

The Public Response and What the Future Holds

Green initially made the incident public via social media in April 2024, prompting backlash that led to a formal apology from Fairmont Hotel management. Her recent revelations that Maxxine Dupri was equally mistreated add a new dimension to the conversation, underscoring that the hotel’s problem involves multiple parties.

As Chelsea Green continues to speak out, the event’s significance remains tied to broader issues of profiling and respectful treatment in hospitality spaces. The renewed focus on Maxxine Dupri’s experience may pressure the Fairmont to issue another statement or take enhanced steps to ensure such situations do not recur. Fans and observers are left to consider if the hotel will acknowledge Dupri’s ordeal publicly and whether changes will be made for future guests.
