Cody Rhodes Joins Bloodline Chaos in Mexico City, Sparks Drama with Epic Superkick Showdown

Published:

Cody Rhodes found himself at the center of a fierce Bloodline confrontation during a Saturday night house show in Mexico City, teaming with Jacob Fatu and Jimmy Uso against Solo Sikoa and the Mostly Fungible Thugs (MFTs), Talla Tonga and JC Mateo. Rhodes, often referred to as Cody Uso for his alliance, played a critical role as the match spiraled into chaos and high drama.

Rhodes Shows Loyalty Amidst Turmoil

Despite facing relentless attacks from Sikoa and his crew, Rhodes proved to be a dependable partner. After a hot tag from Jimmy Uso, Rhodes executed a springboard kick to remove Talla Tonga from the apron and followed with a powerslam on Mateo. He then briefly neutralized Sikoa with a Bionic Elbow, buying his team some crucial time. Like many Bloodline matches, the action escalated wildly when the referee was incapacitated after Mateo shoved Rhodes into the official, creating an opening for mayhem.

Superkick Frenzy Highlights the Show

The match featured moments where several wrestlers shone. Mateo spun Rhodes into a back suplex but quickly took a superkick from Jimmy Uso before being knocked down by Sikoa. Jacob Fatu energized the crowd with his signature Samoan shimmy, delivering a DDT to Sikoa and an elbow smash to Tonga Loa. A dramatic standoff between Fatu and Talla Tonga ended when Rhodes, Uso, and Fatu launched a coordinated superkick assault, sending Tonga crashing to the floor. Following an attempted sneak attack by Mateo, stereo superkicks from Fatu and Uso cleared the way for Rhodes to land his finishing move, the Cross Rhodes, securing the win.

Earlier Shows and Continuing Alliances With Bloodline

This was not Rhodes’ first time siding with the Bloodline. In October at the Bad Blood event, he supported Roman Reigns against Sikoa and Fatu, displaying a remarkable commitment that included risking injury with a top-rope splash through the announcer’s table to take down Fatu. That act helped set up Reigns’ spear that defeated Sikoa. Again, in January, Rhodes came to the aid of the Bloodline, helping fend off Sikoa’s faction while Reigns maintained his position as the undisputed Tribal Chief.

Unfinished Business Looms Ahead

Rhodes’ involvement has been invaluable to Roman Reigns and his family, but tensions remain unresolved between Rhodes and Reigns, hinting at an anticipated confrontation at WrestleMania. Both have a significant victory over each other at WWE’s premier event, setting the stage for a high-stakes trilogy if they meet again. If Rhodes enters as WWE Undisputed Champion, he risks more than just his place as an unofficial honorary Uce within the Bloodline.
