Deonna Purrazzo Reveals Ambitious Future Goals in Wrestling

Deonna Purrazzo, currently holding the Ring of Honor Women’s Pure Championship, has outlined her major goals moving forward in her wrestling career, expressing a strong desire to defend her championship, return to AEW television regularly, and gain experience as a producer. Active in both AEW and Ring of Honor for several years, Purrazzo has recently focused on ROH programming but is eager to elevate her presence on larger platforms once again. She shared these ambitions during a recent interview on Wrestling With Heart, where she also discussed her long-term vision for her career inside and outside the ring.

Purrazzo’s Championship Defense and Higher Competitive Ambitions

Holding the Ring of Honor Women’s Pure Championship since late last year, Deonna Purrazzo has yet to make her first title defense, a milestone she is eager to achieve soon. She stressed how important it is to solidify her standing by defending the championship, signaling her commitment to demonstrating that she remains a significant competitor 14 years into her wrestling journey. Beyond her current title, Purrazzo expressed enthusiasm for returning to high-profile AEW shows such as Dynamite and Collision, aiming to be a contender not only for her existing championship but also for the AEW Women’s World Championship, the TBS Championship, and the newly introduced AEW Women’s Tag Team Titles. Her return to AEW’s main programming would mark a renewed push to compete at the highest level within the sport.

Long-Term Aspirations to Work Behind the Scenes

Looking further ahead, Purrazzo also envisions a future where she transitions into a production role within wrestling. Inspired by seeing Madison Rayne successfully working as a producer and agent backstage, she hopes to develop similar skills and contribute to the business side of wrestling once she decides to step away from active competition. This goal reflects her desire to remain integral to the wrestling industry in a different capacity beyond performing in the ring.

“I, as we’re talking, have not defended my Pure Women’s Championship, so I would love to get my first title defense underway. You know, I think that I’ve been able to accomplish a lot of things in wrestling. You know, I got to be the first ever Knockout’s World Championship pay-per-view main event. I’ve been able to main event Dynamite before I was even contracted to AEW. Being able to be kind of one of the people who rebirthed Women of Honor back in 2015. I’ve had a lot of really special moments, but I think that I’m still fighting to prove that I have a place 14 years later in this industry, and I would just love to be able to do that on a grander stage, and so defending my Ring of Honor Pure Women’s Championship is number one in that. Number two, obviously, I’d love to be back on Dynamite or Collision and in contention maybe for the TBS Championship, for the AEW Women’s World Championship, for our new AEW Women’s Tag Titles. I’d love to be in contention and in the mix on Dynamite or Collision. But I think way in the future, one of my goals is to learn how to produce and to be an agent backstage. I get to see Madison Rayne do it on a weekly basis, and I know how much she loves it, and I think that I could also love it the same when I’m ready to take my wrestling boots off and put those boots on.”

Additional Desire for a Submission Match and Continuing Wrestling Evolution

In the same interview, Purrazzo also conveyed a keenness to compete in a submission-style match within AEW or Ring of Honor, highlighting her interest in diverse match formats that showcase technical skill. This aligns with her overall determination to challenge herself and carve out a distinctive legacy in wrestling. Purrazzo’s ambitions to defend her title, contend for major AEW championships, and ultimately work behind the scenes illustrate a well-rounded approach to her career, mixing immediate competitive goals with aspirations for long-term involvement in the sport.

Significance of Purrazzo’s Goals for Her Wrestling Trajectory

With Deonna Purrazzo vocalizing these aspirations, she positions herself as a driven talent seeking to expand her influence both on screen and backstage. Successfully defending the ROH Women’s Pure Championship would reinforce her elite status, while a return to AEW’s nationally televised events could boost her visibility and opportunities in professional wrestling. Looking beyond active competition, her interest in production roles reflects foresight in sustainable career planning. These goals suggest that Purrazzo intends to remain a prominent figure in wrestling for years to come, contributing to the industry in various capacities as she evolves.
