Eddie Kingston Opens Up on AEW Forbidden Door Return: Will Fans See His Comeback This Month?

Published:

Eddie Kingston’s return to AEW remains uncertain as the Forbidden Door event approaches later this month in London. Known for his affinity toward this particular event, Kingston recently shared his feelings about possibly missing out again during a conversation on Cezar Bononi’s YouTube channel. His reflections reveal a mix of disappointment and hope tied to his comeback prospects.

Kingston Reflects on His Connection to Forbidden Door and Japanese Wrestlers

Kingston expressed deep frustration over the likelihood that he won’t participate in Forbidden Door once more. He emphasized the event’s significance in his career, stating that Forbidden Door has always been especially important to him because it features many wrestlers he admires.

“I am disappointed that it looks like, I’m just saying it now, it looks like I’m not going to be able to do Forbidden Door again,”

Kingston admitted.

“My thing is, everybody else has their favorites, and my favorite was always Forbidden Door. It’s shit I like to do. That’s the shit I like. For me, Forbidden Door will always be the big one.”

He also highlighted the personal connections he has to several Japanese wrestlers he hoped to face, including Shingo Takagi, Yuya Uemura, Shota Umino, and Taichi. Kingston’s admiration for these competitors underscores how much it would mean for him to return this year.

“The Japanese dudes are my dudes. I wanted to fight Shingo (Takagi), Yuya (Uemura), Shota (Umino), Taichi. There are so many. Missing it, as of right now, missing it two years in a row sucks. Hopefully, this comes out and I’m wrong and I’m actually at Forbidden Door,”

he said.

What Kingston’s Return Would Mean for AEW and Fans

If Kingston does make a comeback in time for Forbidden Door, it would mark a significant moment for both AEW and his fans, who have closely followed his journey back to the ring. His participation would inject additional excitement into the event, especially due to his enthusiasm for competing against the Japanese talent featured there. However, his cautious tone indicates that fans should prepare for the possibility that his return may be delayed.

Updates on Kingston’s AEW status will continue to emerge as Forbidden Door nears, and supporters remain eager to see whether he can achieve his much-anticipated comeback. Fans are encouraged to share their thoughts on Kingston’s situation and hopes for the event’s roster changes.
