The match, arranged by NXT General Manager Robert Stone, came following controversy in the NXT Championship bout just days earlier where Page’s involvement influenced the outcome. This clash tested whether Page and Saints could put aside past disagreements and work as a unit, with the stakes set high after previous confrontations.
Though Borne and Hendry entered the match as clear favorites, considering the unresolved issues between Page and Saints, the tag match started with Hendry and Saints facing off. Early exchanges included dual headlocks before Saints tagged in Page. Hendry countered with a hip lock maneuver on both opponents, then passed the action to Borne. After a forceful kick to Saints, Borne attempted to pin him following a slammed drop to the mat but fell short.
From that point forward, Page and Saints seized control. Hendry was increasingly isolated as Borne struggled against the teamwork of his rivals. Attempts by Hendry to re-engage were thwarted repeatedly, with Saints aggressively preventing Borne from tagging in. After Page executed a DDT on Borne, the latter broke the pin himself, trying to turn the momentum. Borne managed a high-risk superplex on Saints, temporarily regaining the upper hand, but Page responded swiftly with a splash and a near pinfall. Hendry eventually reentered the match, hitting Page with a neckbreaker and Saints with a fallaway slam. Even after applying an Olympic Slam to Saints, Hendry couldn’t secure the pin as Saints kicked out, reigniting the battle.
In a dramatic moment, Page grabbed the NXT Championship belt, handing it to Saints in a psychological play against Hendry, but the referee intervened before any use of the belt could impact the match. As Saints prepared to charge with a spear off the ropes, Page tagged himself in unexpectedly, creating confusion between the teammates. This miscommunication led to Borne forcibly removing Page from the ring, prompting a referee warning. Seizing the opportunity, Page quickly delivered his signature move, the Twisted Grin, to Hendry and secured the pinfall, clinching the win for his team.
