The anticipation around this year’s Royal Rumble is growing, and the latest Gene Snitsky Royal Rumble surprise return news has fans buzzing. Gene Snitsky, a veteran of WWE, revealed his openness to participating in the iconic match after 17 years away, sharing his excitement and terms for a comeback during a recent interview.
Snitsky Remains Relevant in WWE and Wrestling Circles
WWE fans are already looking forward to what is being billed as one of the most significant Royal Rumble events ever. Gene Snitsky, who has remained in the public eye since his 2003-2008 WWE run, has continued to make waves in the wrestling community. He returned to WWE briefly for a special segment on RAW alongside Chelsea Green in 2023. Outside of the main spotlight, Snitsky has made appearances for organizations such as GCW earlier this year, proving his ongoing connection to the professional wrestling circuit.
Currently, Snitsky manages his own army surplus business in Pittsburgh. Despite his entrepreneurial endeavors, he still actively participates in independent wrestling events. In recent discussions on the INSIGHT show with Chris Van Vliet, Snitsky questioned why he has not been considered for a major WWE run like many of his contemporaries. The former WXW Hall of Famer expressed that a standard part-time return is off the table for him, but he remains open to a one-night appearance, specifically in the Royal Rumble, potentially at a future event in Saudi Arabia set for January.

Snitsky Shares Thoughts on a One-Off WWE Appearance
During his conversation with Chris Van Vliet, Snitsky was candid about his feelings on returning to WWE and the kind of experience he would consider meaningful at this stage of his career. He clarified that while he does not wish to take on a demanding schedule, he’s still passionate about the industry and its fans.
“I don’t know, you’ll have to ask them. [laughs] Like I said, I always try to keep myself in good shape and good ring condition, and I… man, at this point in my life I probably wouldn’t ever consider even a part-time schedule. [CVV: what about a Royal Rumble one-off?] Well, that kind of stuff, absolutely, because it keeps my face out there, it’s good for the shop, it’s good for, you know, my brand… is the way the kids are talking these days. [smiles] So, but I’m… as you see, man, I haven’t changed since… I’m a kid, this is me. I’ve always been like this, I ain’t changing now, I ain’t going to ever change. My wife… like I tell her all the time, ‘I’ve been like this for 55 years, I ain’t changing now!’,”
