Published:

IYO SKY has opened up about why she favors performing as a babyface in WWE, offering insight into her personal experience and preference. The RAW Superstar explained her reasons during an interview, highlighting how her time in NXT was mostly spent as a heel, while her main roster role allows her to embrace a more natural and enjoyable babyface persona. The Appeal of Playing a Babyface Character

Reflecting on her journey, IYO SKY said that being a heel required her to maintain a consistently grumpy or intimidating expression during matches. In contrast, as a babyface, she is able to express genuine joy, which suits her personality more comfortably. This shift has made her wrestling experience more positive and fulfilling.

When I was in NXT, most of the time I was as a heel. But now I am a babyface and I always smiling,

IYO SKY said.

I’m pointing my face and screaming, and I’m so much better enjoying this way to wrestling, so yeah.

She was asked if she preferred portraying a babyface, to which she responded affirmatively, noting how naturally smiling comes to her during performances.

Yeah, because I could smiling in the ring,

IYO SKY stated.

Because as a heel I have to always keep like a grumpy face or you know scary face during the match, so now I’m smiling as a natural.

The transition to a babyface role has not only influenced IYO SKY’s in-ring demeanor but has also resonated with fans who appreciate her authentic energy and enthusiasm.
