In a recent Snapchat Q&A session, Jazmyn Nyx shared details about why she chose to leave WWE NXT, touching on her experience with the company’s contract offer and pay. Nyx was removed from NXT storylines this week following her decision not to accept a new three-year contract, despite expressing appreciation for the opportunities WWE provided during her tenure.
Salary and Contract Discontent Highlighted
Nyx explained that the financial terms of WWE’s contract offer did not meet her expectations. Addressing fans directly, she revealed that her NXT salary was far from six figures, stating,
“Ultimately it came down to the work I was putting in and being booked for was not accurate with the amount I was being offered,”
and added,
“And no I was not making 6 figures but that is the goal but thank you.”
She also responded to an Instagram fan by indicating that it would have been ideal to earn between $80,000 to $150,000 annually.
Career Background and Physical Demands Contributed to Decision
Nyx, whose real name is Jade Gentile, entered the WWE Performance Center in 2022 after a background as a soccer player. She joined NXT as part of the faction Fatal Influence alongside Jacy Jayne and Fallon Henley. Beyond financial concerns, Nyx noted in the Q&A that the physical toll affected her choice to leave.
“Not specifically my injuries, but the wear and tear that the job had on my body was one of the reasons,”
she said.
“I was wrestling for both tna and nxt every Tuesday and on the weekends without a day off.”
Implications for Jazmyn Nyx’s Wrestling Career
Nyx’s candid comments about her WWE NXT salary and taxing schedule shed light on the challenges faced by wrestlers who balance demanding workloads with compensation that may not reflect their efforts. Her departure signals a critical moment for both her career and WWE’s talent retention strategies as she seeks opportunities more aligned with her expectations and well-being. Fans and industry observers will be watching to see what direction she takes next outside the WWE environment.
