The WWE EVOLVE season finale unfolded on February 25, 2026, at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, featuring the much-anticipated Wendy Choo Kali Armstrong match. Fans witnessed an intense showdown that highlighted Kali Armstrong’s commanding presence in the ring against Wendy Choo. This event aired on Tubi with commentary and interviews capturing behind-the-scenes dynamics and in-ring action.
Pre-Match Preparations and Opening Contest
As the show began, Peter Rosenberg introduced the evening, setting the scene with an exterior shot of the Performance Center. Earlier in the day, Kam Hendrix, Harley Riggins, and Braxton Cole discussed their upcoming tag team match while waiting to find out who would join their squad. Hendrix greeted Cyrus warmly, while a last-minute text confirmed Keanu Carver’s participation.
The opening match of the night saw Tyra Mae Steele face off aggressively against Zena Sterling, who represented LFG. Sterling extended a handshake, but Steele responded with an immediate suplex and maintained dominance through a spear and decisive German suplex, winning the bout in just over a minute. After her victory, Steele confidently indicated she would be watching the next match, asserting her status as the only gold medalist present.
Kali Armstrong and Wendy Choo’s Intense Rivalry Comes to a Head
The main singles match featuring Kali Armstrong versus Wendy Choo introduced Choo with new entrance music, reflecting her evolving character after shedding previous personas. From the outset, Armstrong imposed her physical dominance, cornering Choo and applying pressure through a throat choke. Choo attempted an early submission hold, the Dirt Nap, but couldn’t maintain it. Both wrestlers exchanged fluid chain wrestling sequences, with Choo gaining momentum after a cannonball from the apron.

As the contest progressed, Armstrong demonstrated resilience, absorbing offense and responding with powerful strikes, including a knee and a rear chinlock. Choo briefly regained control with maneuvers such as a cartwheel clothesline and a stiff kick, producing several near falls. The intensity escalated with Choo executing a superplex and a brainbuster from the top rope, followed by a fiercely applied submission hold locked outside the ring. Armstrong tapped briefly, but the official clarified that the submission did not count because it occurred beyond the ring boundaries.
Returning inside the ring, Armstrong built momentum and finished the match with a thunderous Kali Konnection move, securing the pin at 8:29. Armstrong’s performance showcased her trademark strength and skill, underscoring her reputation as “The Difference Maker.”
(Miller’s Take:
“I really think they could have done more with this match. It wasn’t bad by any means, but I was expecting a little more intensity given the grudge. Choo’s character has evolved (pardon the pun) into something more generic. She’s likable but she’s lost the edge and mystery that made her stand out. She’s not sleepy Wendy, and she’s not evil Wendy, so who is she, really? I’m not saying she can’t get over, but if she’s going to stay away from the Sleepy Psycho image, she needs to create something equally unique. Armstrong, as usual, was excellent.”

Tag Team Tensions and Team Dynamics Before the Main Event
Backstage, Team ID warmed up in anticipation of their upcoming 10-man tag team match. Mike Cunningham prepared with confident swagger while Legacy delivered a motivating speech to his teammates before leading them to the entrance. Their opponents, The Vanity Project, reinforced their self-interest and egos, emphasizing a separation from their ID partners before entering the arena.
Meanwhile, Harlem Lewis voiced determination to dismantle Brooks Jensen, highlighting deep personal stakes as Succession II approaches. Tate Wilder was announced as the special referee, setting the stage for a chaotic and highly competitive tag team battle.
High-Stakes 10-Man Tag Team Match Brings Season to a Climax
The main event pitted Team ID—Sean Legacy, Aaron Rourke, Mike Cunningham, Brad Baylor, and Ricky Smokes—against Team PC—Kam Hendrix, Harley Riggins, Braxton Cole, Cyrus, and Keanu Carver—with Jackson Drake accompanying Team ID. The match ignited immediately, with Legacy aggressively targeting Hendrix. Chaos ensued as participants brawled across the ring and floor, overpowering referee Tate Wilder’s ability to maintain order.
As the battle unfolded, Team PC gained control through precise teamwork and high-impact moves, including a notable double clothesline by Kam Carver. After a brief commercial break, the action intensified with rapid tags and coordinated triple-team maneuvers, eliciting a robust crowd response. Despite near falls and intense sequences, Team PC’s coordinated assault seemed poised to dominate.
The Vanity Project unexpectedly abandoned their teammates mid-match, citing disinterest in the Evolve brand compared to NXT opportunities.
“We’re in NXT, we don’t need this!”
– Brad Baylor
This exit left Team ID shorthanded but fueled a resurgence, with Rourke and Legacy mounting a fierce comeback. After dynamic moves—including Rourke’s satellite DDT and moonsault—the match climaxed with a decisive pinfall, awarding victory to Team ID after 20 minutes of grueling action.
(Miller’s Take:
“The last match on Evolve Season 1 finale was the longest match of the year, and possibly the best. Cunningham can sell like nobody’s business. The Vanity Project deserting their team was not surprising at all, and fit their spoiled brat characters perfectly. Legacy, Carver, and Rourke continue to shine in their own ways. A lot of things happened in this match, and it told a great story. Superb main event!”
