Kevin Owens Reveals How Randy Orton Supported Him During Career-Threatening WWE Injury Battle

Published:

Kevin Owens, WWE Superstar, is currently sidelined due to a serious neck injury, casting uncertainty over his in-ring future. In a recent interview, Owens described the crucial support he received from Randy Orton during this difficult period, shedding light on the strong bond between the two competitors and highlighting the importance of their connection in the context of Kevin Owens injury and Randy Orton support in WWE.

Kevin Owens Discusses Injury and Missed WrestleMania Match

Owens, also referred to as KO, was scheduled to face Randy Orton—known as The Apex Predator—at WrestleMania 41. However, on the April 4 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Owens informed fans that he would not be able to participate in the highly anticipated match due to a neck injury, which required medical attention and possible surgery. This development disappointed fans and shifted the focus from their rivalry to concern for his health.

The First Conversation: Respect Between Rivals

Speaking to le10Sport, Kevin Owens revealed he immediately reached out to Orton after receiving updates from his doctors, underscoring the respect he holds for The Viper. Their rivalry in the months leading up to WrestleMania was intense, but KO emphasized that respect trumped any in-ring animosity.

“Randy was the first person I spoke to after the discussion with the doctors, because it’s a question of respect as well. He was the one I was supposed to have a match with at WrestleMania. And despite the things that happened in the months leading up to WrestleMania, there are very few people in the wrestling world that I respect as much as Randy Orton. So, I spoke to him immediately. He was the first person I called after talking to the doctor,”

Randy Orton’s Role in Owens’ Recovery Efforts

Owens has spoken openly about the pivotal role Orton played when it came to seeking out the right medical care. According to Owens, Orton connected him with the surgeon who performed Orton’s own career-saving neck surgery, an act that offered a lifeline and much-needed reassurance during this challenging time.

“He immediately put me in touch with the surgeon who did his surgery, who saved his career. Since then, I have been in constant contact with this surgeon, who evaluates all my test results, keeps an eye on everything that happens, and advises me as I go along. So, I’m very lucky to have all the support I have, Randy included. And now I have the chance to talk not only to his doctor but to many others as well. I have four specialists who are available to me and to whom I can ask questions when I need them. So, I’m in very good hands. Randy helped me a lot in this process,”

Ongoing Wait for Surgery and Uncertain Return

Despite announcing the need for surgery after withdrawing from WrestleMania, the SmackDown Superstar has not yet undergone the procedure. In his conversation with le10Sport, Owens explained that while he is certain surgery will be necessary, his medical team is monitoring his condition to determine the best timing for the operation. This waiting period means that his return to WWE remains unclear, leaving fans and colleagues hoping for good news on his recovery.

The Road Ahead for Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens’ battle with injury remains unresolved, casting doubt on when he will be able to step back into a WWE ring. The involvement of Randy Orton—the 14-time WWE Champion—and the network of medical specialists now supporting KO has provided reassurance and optimism. As the WWE Universe anxiously anticipates further updates, the story has spotlighted both the fierce rivalries and enduring camaraderie among the company’s top stars, showing how mutual respect can shape both personal journeys and the broader world of professional wrestling.
