“We’re all perfectionists…There’s a lot of little things that we want to nitpick…We wouldn’t be here unless we had that level of wanting to be perfect, but I think leading up to it, leading up to Kofimania was perfect,”
he said.
Challenges and Eventual Title Loss to Brock Lesnar
Despite feeling confident during his four months as WWE Champion, Kingston was aware that such success might be short-lived. His reign ended in October 2019 on the debut episode of WWE SmackDown on Fox when Brock Lesnar defeated him for the title.

“People will never understand what we have to go through to give you what you saw on TV,”
Kingston remarked.
“Leading up to [losing to Lesnar]…there were many alternatives to it, but we present what we’re supposed to present…We take a lot of pride in being able to deliver what we’ve been given…It was what it was.”

Kingston expressed no resentment toward Brock Lesnar, emphasizing that both athletes were executing booking decisions beyond their control.
“We’re given a task to complete, and it’s our job as performers to complete that task,”
he said. “I’m glad that people cared.”
This title change also echoed in the New Day stable, as Lesnar later ended Big E’s own WWE Championship reign, connecting the experiences of Kingston and his fellow member.
