Logan Paul Fires Shocking Shots at Conor McGregor in Dublin Showdown

Published:

Logan Paul, visiting Dublin, Ireland for WWE SmackDown, launched a series of provocative remarks aimed at former UFC double champion Conor McGregor. The tension between the two fighters has mounted amid rumors of an impending boxing match that were ultimately halted by the UFC.

Before his rise as a WWE Superstar, Logan Paul pursued a boxing career, including a high-profile 2021 exhibition against Floyd Mayweather Jr. Paul’s official boxing record currently stands at one win and one loss—he was defeated by KSI in 2019 but later defeated Dillon Danis in 2023.

There had been speculation about a fight between Paul and McGregor scheduled for late last year in India, but the UFC reportedly canceled those plans. Both men are now affiliated under the TKO brand, which owns WWE and UFC, complicating the potential for a bout.

On his recent YouTube vlog, Paul expressed frustration with the Dublin crowd‘s reaction during his WWE segment against John Cena, directing harsh criticism toward Irish fans and McGregor himself.

“People are so stupid, especially the Irish. I’ve decided I hate this city. By the way, what did you expect here in Dublin? … Everyone’s a drunk, washed up failure, including Conor McGregor,” Paul said.

The hostile remarks suggest Paul may be setting the stage for a possible boxing match with McGregor, a prospect that promises significant financial rewards despite their commitments to WWE and UFC.

Logan Paul‘s Confrontation with John Cena on WWE SmackDown

Fresh from his wedding in Como, Italy, Logan Paul arrived in Dublin brimming with confidence. During WWE SmackDown, he engaged in a heated face-off with John Cena, who launched a powerful promo that appeared to catch Paul off guard.

The confrontation culminated with Cena delivering the Attitude Adjustment to Paul, signaling a symbolic victory in their showdown. Nevertheless, Paul retaliated by landing a backstage punch that left the 17-time World Champion temporarily incapacitated.

Meanwhile, Cena was involved in discussions with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis, who received news from Brock Lesnar. Lesnar, returning from a two-year hiatus at SummerSlam, targeted Cena following Cena’s recent loss of the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes.
