Logan Paul Says Floyd Mayweather Still Owes Him $1.5M

Logan Paul has stated that Floyd Mayweather owes him $1.5 million from their 2021 exhibition boxing match. The clash took place in June 2021 and involved Paul, a wrestler and YouTube personality, facing the boxing legend Mayweather. Logan claims the financial arrangements following the fight have caused him significant frustration and losses.

Details Behind the Money Dispute

During an appearance on The Iced Coffee Hour podcast, Logan Paul revealed that he did not earn as much as expected from the fight. He explained the dispute centers on Mayweather’s decision to pre-sell rights to their bout to a company in the Middle East, reportedly Dubai, using Logan’s name and image before the event was held in the United States.

Logan described the situation:

I didn’t make as much money as you’d think fighting Floyd. He still owes me a million and a half. Maybe more.

He further clarified,

That is the company that put on the fight. That is the company that paid, but he sold our fight with my name and likeness to someone else in Dubai for 10 million dollars cash.

According to the original agreement, Logan was to receive 15 percent of the $10 million deal Mayweather arranged with the overseas company, amounting to $1.5 million. However, Logan expressed doubt he will recover the unpaid sum.

He candidly added,

Our deal was 15 percent. He smoked me. I don’t think I’m ever getting the money.

Logan Paul’s Future Wrestling Ambitions

Aside from the ongoing money dispute, Logan Paul shared enthusiasm about potentially wrestling the music superstar Bad Bunny. Having signed with WWE in 2022, Logan is exploring matches with prominent figures and believes a bout with Bad Bunny would be highly notable.

On his Impaulsive podcast, Logan commented,

“Let’s peel back the f****** curtain. I’m going to stop f****** around. Bad Bunny is a world-renowned superstar.”

He added,

“He also can be a WWE superstar when he wants. He’s a good wrestler. He can f****** wrestle.”

Logan revealed,

There have been talks about maybe us wrestling. It’s been floated around. I’ve been candid about the fact that I’d love to do it. I think it would be the greatest WWE match of all time. I really believe that.

Significance of the Dispute and What Comes Next

The ongoing dispute with Floyd Mayweather highlights challenges that can arise behind the scenes in high-profile exhibition events, especially when complex licensing and promotional deals are involved. For Logan Paul, the unresolved payment issue serves as a source of tension and financial frustration. Meanwhile, he continues to pursue his wrestling career vigorously, positioning himself for potentially high-profile matches like one with Bad Bunny, which could attract considerable attention in the wrestling and entertainment industries.
