Mercedes Moné to Defend Winnipeg Title in March Showdown

Mercedes Moné is scheduled to defend the Winnipeg Pro Wrestling (WPW) Women’s Championship on March 31 at the Manitoba Museum during the ‘Fight at the Museum’ event. This showdown marks one of Moné’s remaining title defenses as she continues to hold multiple championships.

Opponent to be Decided Through Women’s Voyageur Cup Tournament

Moné’s challenger will be the winner of the Women’s Voyageur Cup, an eight-woman tournament taking place on March 13 and 14. The competitors announced for this tournament include Shayna Baszler, Jody Threat, Allie Katch, Ava Lawless, and Nikki Blackheart, among others.

Background on Moné’s Championship Reign and AEW Activity

Moné captured the WPW Women’s title from Jody Threat last October, adding it to the eight championships she currently holds. Last year, she lost the TBS Championship to Willow Nightingale on the final episode of AEW Dynamite before announcing a hiatus from AEW. Notably, AEW is set to hold Dynamite and Collision tapings in Winnipeg on April 1, the day after Moné’s WPW title defense.
