Seth Rollins Says He’s Just in His Prime, Years Left

WWE Superstar and former World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins recently appeared on ESPN First Take to address his shoulder injury, which will prevent him from competing in the upcoming Royal Rumble, and to share insights about his physical health and the future of his wrestling career. Despite battling several injuries, Rollins emphasized that he believes he still has many years left to wrestle and views himself as being in the prime of his career.

Reflecting on his health and tenure in wrestling, Rollins said,

“You know, I’ve got some chronic stuff going on. That’s for sure. I think any athlete that’s, you know, I’m almost 40 now and been doing this for over 20 years. As we look at me flying across the range, I still got ups. I still got ups. My knees still work, so that’s good. But yeah, I mean accidents happen. You know, it’s a physical sport. You know, it’s just one of those things. You know, you can see it was painful that shoulder injury, and I’m sure it won’t be the last of my career. But yeah, I am about 22 years deep in this wrestling thing, and I think I’m probably closer to the end than the beginning. However, however, I’m still under 40, and I feel like I’ve got a lot of years left. I feel like I’m really just in the middle of my prime right now. The physical hasn’t declined, and mentally I’m as sharp as I’ve ever been. So there’s a lot left in the Seth Rollins tank, Stephen A.”

Rollins Highlights Prominent Emerging WWE Talent

During the interview, Rollins also shared his thoughts on the young talent currently making waves in WWE, particularly those rising through the NXT developmental brand. He praised several wrestlers who he believes are poised for major success in the near future and could elevate the organization’s landscape. Expressing enthusiasm for the future of WWE, Rollins stated,

“Oh man. Yeah, I mean, WWE is full of extremely incredible young talent right now. You look at NXT, which is our developmental brand, and um there’s tons of guys who have come through there, myself included, um who are ready to take the next step. Um, you know, Bron Breakker is the first one that jumps off the page. He is one of the Steiner brother’s kids, so he’s got that Steiner DNA in him. You look at Logan Paul. You look at a guy like Austin Theory. There’s a cat on Raw named Je’Von Evans, the bouncy kid. I love him. I love what he’s doing. Carmelo Hayes is the United States Champion over on SmackDown. He is incredible. So, there is a ton of young talent. And the cool thing about the Royal Rumble is it’s meant to make stars. That’s what it’s that’s what it’s there for. And so anything can happen when you get 30 guys in there going at it at the same time for a shot at the main event of WrestleMania.”

The Importance of the Royal Rumble and Future Implications

Rollins’ absence from the Royal Rumble due to his injury is a notable development, given the event’s role in positioning wrestlers for WrestleMania’s main event. The Royal Rumble traditionally serves as a platform for elevating emerging stars, many of whom Rollins identified during his conversation. His remarks underscore the depth of talent in WWE’s ranks and suggest a promising future as younger wrestlers continue to rise. Meanwhile, Rollins’ own confidence in his longevity and current physical and mental sharpness signals that he expects to remain a significant figure in WWE for years ahead.
