Former WWE Writer Slams Solo Sikoa’s MFT Ringside Role on SmackDown: “That’s What I Hate”

Published:

WWE Superstar Solo Sikoa recently transformed his faction into a new group called ‘My Family Tree’ (MFT), which played a key role in his capture of the United States Championship at Crown Jewel. This revamped alliance consists of JC Mateo, Tonga Loa, and Tala Tonga. Their focus has shifted toward targeting former ally Jacob Fatu, who is now the challenger for Sikoa’s US Title at the upcoming WWE SummerSlam 2025.

Controversial Ringside Presence Draws Criticism

During the latest SmackDown episode, Jacob Fatu faced The Miz in a high-stakes match. However, the presence of MFT members at ringside triggered sharp criticism from former WWE writer Vince Russo, who voiced his frustration on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s BroDown podcast. Russo questioned the logic and fairness of allowing the MFT to remain ringside throughout the match, labeling this as “lazy booking.”

“So you got the match between Fatu and Miz. Here comes the MFT. Why in God’s name is the referee allowing them to hang around ringside, man? That’s what I hate. That’s lazy booking because I could tell you this. Anybody can go back and watch the Attitude era, if anybody did a run in, they did a run in and as soon as they did a run in and did something, the ref would throw them out. They didn’t hang around ringside for 10 freaking minutes. This is what I hate about what they do. Why wouldn’t the referee send their a***s to the back?” —Vince Russo, Former WWE Writer

Escalating Rivalry Set for Steel Cage Showdown at SummerSlam

The hostility between Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa has intensified considerably over recent months, setting the stage for a Steel Cage match at WWE SummerSlam 2025. This match type aims to prevent any outside interference, particularly from the MFT, ensuring a decisive confrontation between the two rivals. The upcoming bout is highly anticipated as it promises to be a pivotal moment in their rivalry and the US Championship storyline.
