Kevin Knight and Speedball Mike Bailey have formed a promising tag team in AEW, combining their skills and chemistry to challenge for the AEW Tag Team Championship at All In: Texas on July 12. Their partnership, named ‘JetSpeed,’ developed after their match on April 9’s AEW Dynamite and is built on mutual respect and shared wrestling experience.
The Chemistry Behind JetSpeed’s Formation
Kevin Knight shared with WrestleZone’s Bill Pritchard that he and Speedball Mike Bailey bring out the best in each other due to their history and complementary strengths. Both wrestlers have crossed paths before in TNA and New Japan’s All-Star Festival, which laid the foundation for their current collaboration. Knight emphasized how Bailey’s extensive knowledge enhances their teamwork, helping him grow and try new things inside the ring.
Me and Speedball, he brings the best out of me. I bring the best out of him. We have a lot of history from our old TNA days. Even our bout in New Japan at the All-Star festival,
Knight explained.
Speedball is very knowledgeable in wrestling and I’m always looking to learn. So, being able to have a tag team partner that’s so knowledgeable, so open to spit knowledge [is great]. And [he’s] getting me more out of my shell. He has his vlog every week. Every week, about two times during a taping, he’s like, ‘Yeah, let’s go vlog. Let’s go talk to the people.’ So, it’s very much an all-around cool experience. He met my family last week and everything. So, me and Speedball definitely have a natural connection, the vibes
, Knight added.

Maintaining a Positive Partnership to Avoid Damage
The duo’s bond also has a practical side. Knight appreciates working alongside Bailey instead of facing him in competition, partly because Bailey’s kicks pack a serious punch. His priority is to remain in Bailey’s good graces, for the sake of his own well-being. This shared understanding reinforces their teamwork and fuels their creativity as they develop new ideas together.
Speedball has a great mind for putting things together. So, it’s pretty easy keeping those vibes going. And we joke around a lot. We observe, we are both very new to the AEW locker rooms. So, we stick together in that aspect. Trying to learn how things operate and yeah, we are just in it together. We are stronger together than we are apart. So, I keep that in mind.
Looking Ahead at AEW All In: Texas
Their upcoming challenge for The Hurt Syndicate’s AEW Tag Team Championship promises to be intense as JetSpeed brings their combined talents to the ring. With their natural rapport and shared commitment to growth in one of AEW’s most competitive environments, Kevin Knight and Speedball Mike Bailey are positioned to make a lasting impact in the tag team division. As rookies navigating AEW’s locker room dynamics together, their alliance represents both strategic partnership and genuine friendship.
Fans can expect to see this energetic team showcase their evolving chemistry on Saturday, July 12 at All In: Texas.
