The Miz expressed concern that a current WWE RAW star could become disinterested in the sport if not managed carefully. Speaking recently, the two-time Grand Slam Champion praised the young talent’s potential while highlighting the challenges tied to his youth and rapid growth in the industry.
Prior to Je’Von Evans’s promotion to the main roster, he briefly trained with The Miz, who is 45 years old. Their interaction included Evans calling him “Unc,” a moment that did not resonate with the live crowd but gained traction online.
During an interview on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight podcast, The Miz discussed what he sees as tremendous promise in Evans, known as The Young OG. Though Evans is recognized within NXT circles, The Miz stressed that mainstream audiences are still largely unaware of his capabilities and charisma.
“I was with Je’Von Evans, and I was like, ‘No one really knows him, right?’ People know him in NXT, but the masses don’t know who he is. So we have to really make this kid because he’s special. He truly is. If you’ve watched him and you feel his energy, the kid has an infectious smile. He’s got charisma. He’s got the ability and he’s young. I was like, ‘Man, this kid’s 21. Imagine what he’s going to be like when he’s 25.’ He might be bored because he’s so good at this age. And I was like, ‘Man, if this kid can keep elevating himself, keep getting bigger, just focusing, locking in, don’t mess up, don’t get injured, like this kid can be something really special in this business,'” The Miz said.
Last Monday in Germany, Je’Von Evans marked a milestone by winning his first official match as a RAW competitor, defeating Bravo Americano.
The Impact of Dolph Ziggler’s Departure on WWE
Dolph Ziggler’s release in 2023 was considered one of the most surprising decisions in recent WWE history, especially given his lengthy tenure with the company. After leaving WWE, Ziggler signed with TNA Wrestling and later returned briefly in November to participate in The Last Time Is Now tournament.

The Miz described seeing Ziggler’s release as emotionally difficult due to their close friendship. Both men began their WWE careers around the same time and built a strong bond over the years. The Miz appreciated Ziggler’s support during their intense rivalry over the Intercontinental Championship during the mid-2010s.
The Future of WWE RAW’s Rising Talent
The Miz’s reflections underline the significance of carefully nurturing rising stars like Je’Von Evans, who possess undeniable talent and charisma at a young age. His warning about boredom suggests that WWE management must continuously provide challenging storylines and opportunities to harness Evans’s potential fully.
With the young superstar’s promising start, including a recent match victory in Germany, fans and insiders alike will be watching closely to see how his role develops on WWE RAW. The Miz’s perspective on handling new talent highlights the balancing act between showcasing ability and ensuring sustained motivation within a highly competitive environment.
