Luther, who performs as the on-screen butler for “Timeless” Toni Storm in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), revealed the origins of his role during a Sign-it-Live session with Highspots. According to Luther, the character concept emerged when AEW President Tony Khan drew inspiration from the 1950 film Sunset Boulevard. The idea was to create a butler role similar to that in the movie, supporting an aging star with a close bond, and Luther shared that his casting partly stemmed from a physical resemblance to a character in the film.
So T.K. came up with the idea from the movie Sunset Boulevard, about an old actress whose butler kind of, you know, was her butler. Helped get her going and had this real deep connection with her and so yeah, I guess I kind of look like him and there you go.

Originally Intended as a Short-Term Role
Luther also mentioned that when his role started, it was expected to be temporary, likely just a few appearances. However, the chemistry on-screen between him and Toni Storm grew unexpectedly strong, which encouraged the role to continue beyond the initial plan, evolving into a recurring feature on AEW programming.
It was gonna be, I think, like a couple times but then it just really gelled and became a thing and started rolling on its own so, there you go. The best stuff always happens by accident lots of times.

Recent In-Ring Performance and AEW Collision Update
Toni Storm recently competed on the March 7 AEW Collision episode alongside her tag partner Mina Shirakawa, where the duo faced Megan Bayne and Lena Kross. Unfortunately, Storm and Shirakawa were defeated in this match, highlighting ongoing challenges for Storm in AEW’s women’s division.
Significance and Future Outlook
Luther’s evolving role as Toni Storm’s butler exemplifies how creative ideas at AEW can organically develop into ongoing storylines that capture fan interest. While initially positioned as a brief supporting character, the on-screen partnership has remained a notable aspect of Toni Storm’s AEW persona. As Storm continues competing in AEW, the dynamic with Luther is likely to influence her presentation and storyline arcs. This relationship reflects AEW’s willingness to experiment with character-driven narratives, potentially shaping future creative directions for both talents.
