Scott, 23, and Whitney, 25, live on New York City’s trendy Upper West Side. They’re a young, happy, married couple. They’re also homeless.

They’ve tried to find help via the social safety net, but were attacked, robbed and infested with lice at the shlelters they stayed in. They’ve also tried to find work without success.
More than 2,600 people slept on the streets of New York City – one of the world’s wealthiest cities – in 2011, according to government data.
