WWE has confirmed that WrestleMania 2027 will be held in Saudi Arabia, marking a major milestone for the global wrestling franchise. This edition will be particularly significant as it coincides with the 300th anniversary of the founding of the First Saudi State. The event is expected to draw unprecedented attention, with Saudi officials aiming to deliver a spectacular show featuring some of wrestling’s biggest stars.
Ambitious Plans to Attract Top Wrestling Legends
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer, Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, under the leadership of Turki Alalshikh, is determined to create the
“most star-studded show ever, by far.”
The officials are reportedly investing heavily with the goal of securing blockbuster matches, leaving financial constraints aside to bring both current superstars and retired legends back into the spotlight.
Meltzer commented on the efforts to assemble impressive talent, stating,
“They’re paying the money for it and they have matches that they want and they’re working really, really hard to get. I don’t know if they’re going to be able to get them, but they’re going to spend a lot of money to get what they want. Yes, we’re talking about anyone coming out of retirement that wants to come out of retirement of big name value will be able to get a lot of money on this show.”

Potential Involvement of Retired Wrestling Icons
Meltzer also indicated that WWE legends who have retired might receive invitations to participate in WrestleMania 2027. The opportunity for a lucrative payday could motivate many of these former stars to make an appearance at the event.
He further explained,
“I would presume all of those people would be contacted and the ones who want to do it will be able to. The ones who have any interest in a great payday, they’ll be able to get on that show.”

This opens the possibility for several highly anticipated dream matches between wrestling icons, adding a new layer of excitement to WWE’s most significant international venture to date.
Discussion of a Dual WrestleMania Year
There is also ongoing discussion about potentially hosting two WrestleMania events in the same year to accommodate both the Saudi Arabian show and the traditional U.S.-based WrestleMania. This approach could allow WWE to expand its global reach while maintaining its established American audience, reflecting the company’s evolving international strategy.
