WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia: Massive Spend Promises Star-Studded Show

Published:

WWE is preparing to bring WrestleMania 43 to Saudi Arabia in 2027, marking a significant global expansion for the event, according to journalist Dave Meltzer. Though WWE has not formally announced the plans, Meltzer revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio that Saudi Arabia will host the show, with the Kingdom investing heavily to ensure a highly star-powered spectacle. This move continues WWE’s ongoing collaboration with Saudi Arabia, a partnership that began in 2018.

Details on Scheduling and Event Scale

Meltzer first learned on August 6 that the Saudi deal was confirmed. Early speculation included the possibility of two WrestleMania events in 2027—one in the U.S. and one in Saudi Arabia—but current information suggests only a single WrestleMania will be held that year, spotlighting the Saudi event exclusively. The Kingdom’s General Entertainment Authority Chairman, Turki Alalshikh, is driving this initiative with a substantial financial commitment.

“They’re putting up an incredible amount of money — a ridiculous amount of money,”

Meltzer said.

“The idea is to present the most star-studded show ever, you know, by far. Everyone, anyone, money is no object. Any name you can imagine, obviously they’re going to be after. I presume it’s the only WrestleMania of that year, but when I first heard — one of the ideas was to do a two WrestleMania year one year so that way it keeps the American fans not upset about Saudi Arabia. But I think perhaps the deal is also that as Saudi Arabia has become more and more normalized, it appears that the outrage that probably would’ve been there even a year ago or two years ago, probably won’t be. I hardly saw any today, but we’ll see.”

WWE initially planned to wait until 2028 to hold WrestleMania in Saudi Arabia due to other existing commitments. However, the Saudi government advocated for the event to happen in 2027 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the founding of the first Saudi state, aligning the wrestling event with national celebrations.

WWE’s Expanding Partnership with Saudi Arabia

The relationship between WWE and Saudi Arabia has grown over the last several years, featuring multiple major events in the Kingdom. In addition to WrestleMania 43, Saudi Arabia is set to host the 2026 Royal Rumble, reinforcing the country’s role as a key venue for WWE’s international programming. Meanwhile, the 42nd WrestleMania remains scheduled for Las Vegas in 2026, maintaining the event’s traditional U.S. presence.

Significance of the Saudi WrestleMania for WWE and Fans

This development highlights Saudi Arabia’s increasing prominence in the global entertainment scene and WWE’s willingness to invest heavily in international expansion. The Kingdom’s strategy includes delivering an unmatched WrestleMania experience with the most prominent wrestling stars, demonstrating a commitment to attracting worldwide attention. As public sentiment toward Saudi Arabia’s involvement in WWE events softens, the company seems poised to strengthen its ties in the region.

WrestleMania 43 Saudi Arabia is expected to generate considerable buzz among wrestling fans and could influence WWE’s future event strategies, balancing its American fanbase with expanding global initiatives. The scale of investment and talent recruitment anticipated for the event underscores WWE’s drive to produce an extraordinary show for the 2027 calendar, making it a milestone in the promotion’s ongoing international growth.
