William Morrissey was born on August 16, 1986, in Glendale, Queens, New York. He attended Archbishop Molloy High School, where he was an active student, serving as a peer tutor and a volunteer at a homeless shelter. Morrissey played basketball during his senior year and was featured in the Catholic High School Athletic Association Senior Classic All-Star game. After high school, he received a scholarship to New York University, initially pursuing a pre-medical track before switching to economics. While at NYU, he played as a center for the NYU Violets basketball team and co-captained during his final season.
After graduating, Morrissey founded a ticket brokerage specializing in events at Madison Square Garden and Yankee Stadium. His early exposure to sports and performance paved the way for his future career in professional wrestling.

Morrissey began his wrestling journey by training at Johnny Rodz’s wrestling school in Brooklyn, New York. He made his debut in the World of Unpredictable Wrestling (WUW) promotion on May 30, 2009, under the ring name Big Bill Young.
