Dante Martin Bio
Dante Martin (born March 3, 2001) is an American professional wrestler signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where he performs as a member of the faction Sky Flight and its sub-group Top Flight. He also appears for AEW’s sister promotion Ring of Honor (ROH). Standing 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing approximately 187 pounds, Martin is recognized for his high-flying offense and has been an active competitor since 2016.
Working alongside his older brother Darius, Martin has built a reputation as one of the most athletic young performers in North American professional wrestling. His career has spanned the independent circuit, major U.S. promotions, and internationally, with matches across Europe and Japan through partner promotions.
Early Life and Background
Dante Martin was born on March 3, 2001, in St. Paul, Minnesota. He grew up in the Twin Cities area with his older brother, Darius Martin, who would later share the ring with him as a tag team partner. The brothers trained together at The Academy: School of Professional Wrestling in Minnesota, a facility run by former WWE and Impact Wrestling star Ken Anderson.
From a young age, the Martin brothers were drawn to professional wrestling as both a form of entertainment and athletic competition. Their training at The Academy gave them a strong technical and conditioning foundation, which helped them transition quickly from students to active performers within Minnesota’s regional wrestling scene.
Path to Professional Wrestling
The Martin brothers made their professional wrestling debut in 2016 as the tag team Top Flight, working independent shows throughout the Midwest. Their early matches helped them sharpen their aerial-based style and develop the chemistry that would later define them on national television.
As they gained experience, Dante and Darius expanded their travels across the U.S. independent circuit, including appearances with AAW Wrestling in Illinois, Game Changer Wrestling, Black Label Pro, Revolution Pro Wrestling, Major League Wrestling, Warrior Wrestling, Republic of Lucha, and DEFY Wrestling. They also wrestled internationally for Ireland’s Over the Top Wrestling and England’s Preston City Wrestling, gaining exposure that eventually led to a national platform.
Dante Martin Career
Early Career (2016–2020)
From 2016 through 2020, Top Flight worked primarily on the independent circuit, building a reputation for fast-paced, high-risk offense. Their bookings took them from small regional promotions in the Midwest to established names in the U.S. independent scene, including AAW, GCW, and Warrior Wrestling. International tours with Over the Top Wrestling and Preston City Wrestling added variety to their early résumés.
By 2020, the brothers had compiled enough tape and momentum to attract the attention of All Elite Wrestling, which was in the midst of expanding its roster following its 2019 launch. Their mix of youth, athleticism, and in-ring experience positioned them as a promising tag team prospect.
All Elite Wrestling Debut and Singles Push (2020–2022)
Top Flight made their AEW debut on the October 27, 2020, episode of AEW Dark, losing to Evil Uno and Stu Grayson of the Dark Order. They followed that with a televised match against The Young Bucks on the November 18 episode of AEW Dynamite. On November 23, 2020, it was announced that Dante and Darius Martin had signed full-time contracts with the company.
In February 2021, Darius suffered a torn ACL, sidelining him and forcing Dante into singles competition. The shift paid off, as Martin received a major singles push, working high-profile matches against Kenny Omega, Malakai Black, Matt Sydal, and Powerhouse Hobbs. In late 2021, he aligned with Lio Rush as his tag team partner, but the duo was short-lived. On November 24, 2021, Martin joined Team Taz, only for it to be revealed as a scheme with Rush. After Rush’s departure from AEW, Martin defeated Powerhouse Hobbs in singles action on January 12, 2022, and continued competing in featured bouts across Dynamite and Rampage.
Return to Tag Team Wrestling and Injury (2022–2023)
On March 2, 2022, Dante reunited with Darius in the Casino Battle Royal on Dynamite. One week later, on March 9, Martin challenged Hangman Page for the AEW World Championship in a losing effort, earning post-match praise and an embrace from Page. The brothers’ reunion was cut short when Darius was involved in a serious car accident, expected to keep him out for up to nine months, returning Dante to singles duty.
Martin continued to compete in major opportunities throughout 2022, including a TNT Championship match against Scorpio Sky on June 3, 2022, and a Casino Ladder match at All Out. In November 2022, he reunited with a returning Darius to team with AR Fox in a Trios title challenge against Death Triangle. Top Flight also debuted for Ring of Honor at Final Battle in December 2022, defeating The Kingdom on the pre-show. Days later, they teamed with AR Fox to win the $300,000 Three Kings Christmas Casino Trios Battle Royal. In April 2023 at Supercard of Honor, Martin suffered a severe leg injury that kept him out of action for several months.
Return and Sky Flight Era (2023–Present)
Martin returned to AEW television on November 29, 2023, teaming with Darius and Action Andretti to defeat The Hardys and Brother Zay. In December 2023, Top Flight and Andretti challenged The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn for the AEW World Trios Championship without success. In August 2024 at All In, Top Flight and Andretti were part of the winning team in a 16-man tag team match, and in October 2024 they again challenged the Blackpool Combat Club for the AEW World Trios Championship.
Tensions surfaced in December 2024 when Top Flight were eliminated by Andretti and Lio Rush during the Dynamite Dozen Battle Royale, leading to a feud. On December 14, 2024, at the Winter is Coming special of Collision, Top Flight were defeated by Andretti and Rush. In July 2025, Top Flight formed a new alliance with Christopher Daniels and Scorpio Sky, known as Sky Flight.
Style and Strengths
Dante Martin is known for a high-flying, athletic style built on speed, agility, and aerial moves such as springboard attacks and top rope dives. His background in the independent circuit has given him a versatile moveset that blends lucha-influenced offense with modern American tag team wrestling. His chemistry with his brother Darius has long been a foundation of his in-ring work.
Notable Events and Milestones
Among Martin’s career milestones is his AEW World Championship challenge against Hangman Page in March 2022, his role in the Three Kings Christmas Casino Trios Battle Royal victory, and the 2024 All In winning team. His return in November 2023 after a severe leg injury marked a significant comeback moment, reinforcing his standing within the AEW roster.
Dante Martin Family
Family Background and Wrestling Lineage
Dante Martin comes from a close-knit family in St. Paul, Minnesota. His older brother, Darius Martin, has been his most important partner throughout his career, with the two training together at The Academy in Minnesota and debuting as Top Flight in 2016. The brothers have shared the ring across multiple promotions, including AEW and Ring of Honor, making their family bond a defining part of Martin’s story in professional wrestling.
Personal Life
Martin keeps much of his personal life private. He has been based in the United States, splitting time between his home state of Minnesota and the major wrestling markets where AEW and ROH operate. He continues to be active in his late twenties and remains one of the youngest performers on AEW’s main roster.
2025 Season Performance
The 2025 storyline for Dante Martin has centered on the formation of Sky Flight, the alliance between Top Flight and veterans Christopher Daniels and Scorpio Sky. The faction’s debut in July 2025 has repositioned Martin within AEW’s tag and trios divisions, giving him a fresh platform following the late-2024 tensions with former ally Action Andretti and Lio Rush.
As of mid-2025, Martin has been featured prominently on AEW programming alongside Darius, Daniels, and Sky. The new alliance opens opportunities in the tag team and trios ranks, with potential matchups against established AEW factions. His return from injury in 2023 and the creation of Sky Flight in 2025 mark two of the most notable recent chapters in his career.
