Jade Cargill Bio
Jade Cargill (born June 3, 1992) is an American professional wrestler currently signed to WWE, where she performs on the SmackDown brand. Standing at 5 ft 10 in and weighing around 161 lb, she is a former two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion and the reigning WWE Women’s Champion in her first reign. Cargill is also the incumbent Queen of the Ring and previously gained worldwide attention in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), where she served as the inaugural AEW TBS Champion.
Before entering professional wrestling, Cargill built a strong athletic foundation through competitive basketball and academic study. She later transitioned into wrestling after being mentored by WWE veteran Mark Henry, quickly establishing herself as one of the most talked-about figures in the industry.
Early Life and Background
Jade Cargill was born in Gifford, Florida, and grew up in a household shaped by her Jamaican heritage. Her father was a first-generation immigrant from Jamaica, instilling in her a strong sense of discipline and ambition. From the age of six, Cargill played basketball, an early pursuit that would define her competitive mindset for years to come.
She attended Sebastian River High School, Florida Air Academy, and Vero Beach High School, where she helped her teams capture two basketball district championships. In 2009, she joined the Amateur Athletic Union, playing for the Orlando Comets, a step that exposed her to higher-level competition and broadened her athletic experience.
After high school, Cargill attended Jacksonville University, where she played for the Jacksonville Dolphins as a forward and guard. Path to Professional Wrestling
After graduating from Jacksonville University with a social science degree, Cargill spent time in France, where she continued playing basketball and pursued modeling work. She later earned a master’s degree in child psychology and worked with foster children as a child psychologist until 2019. Although she had built a successful life outside of sports, her competitive drive eventually drew her toward a new challenge.
Her transition into wrestling began through a mutual friend who introduced her to WWE veteran Mark Henry, whom she has since called her mentor. Encouraged by Henry, Cargill enrolled at the Face 2 Face professional wrestling school in Morrow, Georgia, owned by Heath Slater, Ron Simmons, and Teddy Long. In April 2019, she attended a WWE tryout at the Performance Center, then trained at AR Fox’s WWA4 Academy before continuing her development at the Nightmare Factory under Q. T. Marshall and Dustin Rhodes.

All Elite Wrestling (2020–2023)
Cargill made her professional wrestling debut on the November 11, 2020, episode of AEW Dynamite, interrupting Cody Rhodes and teasing the arrival of Shaquille O’Neal. The following day, AEW founder Tony Khan announced that Cargill had signed a multi-year contract with the promotion. She quickly entered a feud with Rhodes and his wife Brandi, which led to a tag team match on the March 3, 2021, episode of Dynamite, where Cargill and O’Neal defeated Rhodes and Red Velvet. Shortly after, she wrestled her first singles match, defeating Dani Jordyn on March 17, and aligned herself with manager Mark Sterling.
In late 2021, Cargill entered the tournament to determine the inaugural AEW TBS Champion, receiving a first-round bye before defeating Red Velvet in the quarterfinals and Thunder Rosa in the semifinals. Following her departure from AEW, Cargill reported to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, in September 2023. She was the first signing announced under TKO Group Holdings. After brief appearances on Raw, NXT, and SmackDown, she made her in-ring WWE debut at the Royal Rumble in January 2024, entering at number 28 and eliminating Nia Jax, Becky Lynch, and Naomi before being eliminated by Liv Morgan.
