Allyssa Lyn Lane, known in the wrestling world as Kayden Carter, was born on May 20, 1988, in Winter Park, Florida. She is of mixed heritage, with a Filipina mother and a Jamaican father. Lane played basketball at Monroe Community College before transferring to Shaw University, where she graduated magna cum laude in 2012 with a BA in recreational management after winning an NCAA Division II championship.
