Early Life and Background
Savelina Fanene, known professionally as Nia Jax, was born on May 29, 1984, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. She was raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, and is of German and Samoan descent. Jax is the second cousin once removed of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. She attended Carlsbad High School and later played college basketball at Palomar College in San Marcos, California. Jax graduated from California State University San Marcos with a marketing degree in 2005. Before embarking on her wrestling career, she worked as a plus-size model.
