Savelina Fanene was born on May 29, 1984, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, and was raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She is of German and Samoan descent, and her family ties run deep in the world of professional wrestling: she is the second cousin once removed of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, a connection that comes through her father Joseph’s relationship to Peter Maivia, Johnson’s grandfather.
