Early Life and Background
Ana Stephanie Vaquer González was born on March 29, 1993, in San Fernando, Chile, the daughter of Gladys González Soto and Héctor Vaquer Alvera. She attended Escuela Villa Centinela through the fourth grade, and in 2004, she relocated with her parents to the coastal city of San Antonio. There, she completed her primary education at Escuela Movilizadores Portuarios in 2006 and graduated from Instituto Comercial Marítimo Pacífico Sur in 2010.
Growing up in Chile, Vaquer developed an interest in professional wrestling at a young age, drawn to the colorful characters and storytelling of lucha libre. Her early years in San Fernando and San Antonio shaped a disciplined work ethic that would later help her navigate a demanding international career. She balanced school with the physical conditioning required for a future in the ring, setting the foundation for her professional debut.
Path to Professional Wrestling
Stephanie Vaquer made her professional wrestling debut at age 15 in February 2009. Her earliest documented matches took place in August 2010 at small events across Chile, where she performed under the ring name Dark Angel. These regional shows gave her a chance to hone her craft in front of hometown crowds.
At the age of 19, Vaquer moved to Veracruz, Mexico, to pursue wrestling at a higher level. She received additional training under respected veterans Ricky Marvin, Último Guerrero, Gran Apache, and Villano IV. Her official in-ring debut in Mexico came on December 22, 2013, at a Chilanga Mask card, where she was defeated by Heroina. During a tour in Mérida, she suffered a triple nose fracture that forced her to stop wrestling for two years, during which she worked as a waitress to make ends meet. In mid-2018, she traveled to Japan for five matches with World Wonder Ring Stardom and later that year attended a WWE tryout held in her home country of Chile.

From her 2009 debut through 2019, Vaquer wrestled across Chile and Mexico under the Dark Angel ring name, learning the trade at small events and on the Mexican independent circuit. Her early years in CMLL training rooms and lucha libre events allowed her to develop a versatile style built on technical wrestling and high-flying offense.
The two-year break caused by her nose fracture tested her resolve, but she returned to the ring determined to continue her career. Her brief but meaningful stint in Stardom in 2018 expanded her international reputation, and the WWE tryout later that year gave her a clear picture of the level required to reach the top of the industry.

The match was ultimately cancelled when the Women’s World Championship was vacated, but at Wrestlepalooza on September 20, she defeated Iyo Sky to win the vacant title, becoming the first Chilean and South American woman to win a world championship in WWE. On October 11 at Crown Jewel, she defeated WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton to win the WWE Women’s Crown Jewel Championship.
