WWE Heatwave 2025: Jacy Jayne Defends TNA Title in Triple Threat, Fresh USA vs. Canada Rivalry Ignites

Published:

WWE is preparing for a significant slate of events as John Cena nears the end of his summer as an active competitor. New updates on match cards and storylines have emerged following SummerSlam, highlighting key matchups scheduled for WWE Heatwave 2025. The event will showcase notable title defenses and intensify ongoing rivalries, particularly the USA versus Canada storyline on NXT.

Upcoming WWE Live Events Feature High-Stakes Matches and Rivalries

Triple H and Shawn Michaels are set to lead two major WWE premium live events during the month’s final week. Before WWE’s Chief Content Officer heads to France with the RAW and SmackDown rosters for Clash in Paris, Shawn Michaels, as Senior Vice President of Talent Development, will oversee Heatwave IV in Lowell, Massachusetts. This event will spotlight both NXT and TNA talent, offering fans a blend of competition and intrigue.

In the lead-up to Heatwave, the week’s RAW broadcast will originate from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, followed by NXT’s Heatwave go-home episode staged at The Met, also in Philadelphia. This location plays host to a burgeoning USA versus Canada storyline, which will intensify during a Peace Treaty segment. Canadian representatives Chelsea Green and NXT North American Champion Ethan Page will meet Tavion Heights and Tyra Mae Steele in a key confrontation, building on recent tensions established when Steele was revealed as Heights’ partner for an upcoming Mixed Tag Team Match.

Six-Woman Tag Team Showdown Features WWE and TNA Stars

An exciting WWE versus TNA Six-Woman Tag Team Match has been confirmed for NXT’s return to live touring. The match will present The Ash Brand’s trio—Ash By Elegance, Heather By Elegance, and M By Elegance—against NXT Women’s Champion and TNA Knockouts World Champion Jacy Jayne, alongside her Fatal Influence stablemates Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx. This encounter promises to showcase the growing crossover between WWE and TNA rosters.

Central to Heatwave‘s narrative is a Triple Threat match for the TNA Knockouts World Championship. Jacy Jayne, holding both the NXT Women’s and TNA titles, will defend her TNA crown against Ash (formerly Dana Brooke) and Masha Slamovich. Both challengers recently had title opportunities on TNA Impact but interfered in each other’s matches, setting the stage for a charged triple threat battle.

Full NXT Lineup for the Philadelphia Live Episode Before Heatwave

The NXT episode airing prior to Heatwave will feature several notable encounters including:

  • Ricky Saints vs. Jasper Troy;
  • Fatal Influence vs. The Elegance Brand in a Six-Woman Tag Team Match;
  • Philly Street Fight: Yoshiki Inamura taking on Josh Briggs;
  • TNA World Champion Trick Williams facing Je’Von Evans to decide the Heatwave opponent for NXT Champion Oba Femi;
  • Blake Monroe versus Jordynne Grace;
  • A Peace Treaty Summit featuring Ethan Page and The Green Regime meeting Tyra Mae Steele and Tavion Heights.

Heatwave 2025 Event Details and Championship Contests

On Sunday, August 24, WWE will host the fourth annual Heatwave event at Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Massachusetts. Unlike previous editions, this will be the first Heatwave to carry only the WWE logo without NXT-specific branding, highlighting its elevated status within the company’s event calendar.

Jacy Jayne will enter Heatwave 2025 78 days into her reign as NXT Women’s Champion and 24 days into defending the TNA Knockouts World Championship. She is scheduled to defend her TNA title in a Triple Threat against Ash By Elegance and Masha Slamovich, both of whom have unsettled recent encounters with one another on TNA programming.

Heatwave will also reveal the next contender for Jayne’s NXT Women’s Championship. Lola Vice, Kelani Jordan, and Jaida Parker will compete in a Triple Threat match to determine the #1 challenger, setting up the potential next chapter in this title rivalry.
