The WWE NXT taping originally planned for Tuesday, February 24, at Center Stage Theater in Atlanta, Georgia, has been shifted back to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. This change, confirmed by PWInsider, is the result of a local permitting complication affecting the production setup for the event.
Local Permitting and Parking Challenges Behind the Relocation
The permitting difficulties involve the WWE production trucks, which have traditionally been stationed in a parking lot adjacent to Center Stage Theater. The recent sale of this parking area has made it impractical to accommodate the necessary production vehicles. Additional permits required for staging work further complicated the situation, leading to the decision to revert to the usual Orlando location.
Ticket Refunds and Event Status on Sales Platforms
Although the event page remains active on Ticketmaster, the main listing now indicates the Atlanta show was canceled by the event organizer. Fans who already purchased tickets need not take any action, as refunds will be processed automatically back to the original form of payment within two to three weeks.
Upcoming WWE NXT Shows Away from Orlando
Despite this setback, WWE NXT will continue its plans to tour for future tapings, including the March 17 event at 713 Music Hall in Houston, Texas, and the March 31 show dubbed WWE NXT: Roadblock at the Infosys Theater inside Madison Square Garden. Tickets for both events are still available.
Notable Matches Scheduled Before and Around the Relocation
No matches had been revealed for the now-canceled Atlanta event. However, in the next scheduled show on February 17, the North American Champion Ethan Page is set to defend his title against Shiloh Hill. Additionally, Hank & Tank, the Vanity Project, OTM, and The Culling will compete in a fatal four-way to determine the next challengers for the NXT Tag Team Championships.
Implications of the Venue Change on WWE NXT’s Touring Plans
This last-minute relocation highlights some of the logistical challenges WWE faces as it resumes touring outside its Orlando base. The permitting and parking issues in Atlanta underscore how local factors can disrupt production planning. The company’s ability to adapt quickly and maintain ticket sales for upcoming distant events like those in Houston and New York will be critical for the continuation of NXT’s roadshows throughout 2024.
