Khadas Mind Modular Workstation : The revolutionary Khadas Mind, a new workstation solution, has taken Kickstarter by storm, achieving its funding goal within hours and raising more than $130,000. Designed by Khadas, this device promises to redefine the boundaries between desktop and portable PCs.

At its core, the Khadas Mind is a small, lightweight computer that can easily fit in a purse or backpack. Weighing just 0.99 pounds and only a quarter the size of an A4 paper, it promises the power of a computer that can move with the user. What makes it unique? Its modularity. Through the Mind Link interface, a 122-pin multi-purpose socket connector, the Mind can connect to various accessories, such as the Mind Dock and Mind Graphics, transforming the core device’s capabilities and adapting to varied user needs.

The Mind’s power comes from an Intel 13th-gen Core i7-1360P processor with 12 cores and 16 threads, peaking at 5 GHz. It also boasts integrated Iris XE graphics and 32GB of dual-channel memory. Storage is no slouch either, with an internal M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 2230 SSD available in 512GB or 1TB options and an extra slot for storage expansion. Khadas employs a “remarkably effective” heat dissipation system for those worried about overheating, ensuring CPU temperatures remain below 80°C while the exhaust vent area stays around 40°C.

Bundled with the Mind Dock, it’s available for backing at $928, with a future retail price of $1,278. The premium package, including the Mind and Mind Graphics unit, is up for grabs at $1,498 on Kickstarter, with the eventual price tag of $2,098. A complete Mind package offers a discount for early birds at $1,627, against its projected retail value of $2,277.
