San Jose Bakery Targeted: A silver pickup truck intentionally crashed into the San Jose Queen Bakery on Thursday morning. The police and the upset shop owner agreed that the suspect ran away with valuable lottery tickets, causing destruction.
This isn’t the first time someone with bad intentions has harmed this 35-year-old bakery on Senter Road. But what sets this attack apart is using a stolen truck as a battering ram.
The owner, Peter, said dealing with frequent security breaches was tough. He emphasized the ongoing risk to local businesses and the urgent need for improved safety measures.
Peter’s nightmare started at 3:30 a.m. when his alarm company called him immediately. He discovered a truck had broken into his bakery while using a mobile app to remotely check on it. He asked the alarm company to directly contact the police. The police checked essential facts of what happened.
Peter saw on his CCTV tape that the suspect scoped out his property before crashing the truck into his bakery, which he found brave. He witnessed the intruder stealing money and lottery tickets bravely.
Surveillance video showed the unlicensed getaway car being towed from the crime scene. The bakery damage was sad. There were broken windows, lottery signs hanging, and broken lottery containers on the floor.

Despite the scare, Peter kept his business open. Crews worked all day to install a new front window, showing their determination and strength.
Peter said, “We knew this would happen,” confirming his prior knowledge. The timing is still being determined. He said running a business in the neighbourhood today makes him feel more afraid, a truth many business owners face.
Peter immediately informed the California Lottery about the events in his business and during the event. Carolyn Becker from the California Lottery stated that thieves cannot use scratch-off tickets as they can be remotely deactivated within minutes. She mentioned issues with California’s lottery shops, noting their association with illegal activities.
The suspect in Thursday’s event remains at large, leaving Queen Bakery to handle the aftermath.
