Julie Anne San Jose and Company: On the lucky day of October 9, Julie Anne San Jose, Rayver Cruz, and Boobay returned to the Philippines triumphantly. When Israel was at war, they were caught in a lockdown ordered by the government.
Initially, their trip was meant to hold the silly “Luv Trip Na, Laff Trip Pa” show in Tel Aviv on October 7, the tragic day that Hamas, a Palestinian Islamist group, attacked Israel without warning.
The show they were supposed to go to had to be cancelled, which meant that the trio had to temporarily seek safety at one of Israel’s shelters. They came here to kill time while they waited for the Israeli airport to reopen.
It wasn’t long before word got around that they were safe again. Sparkle Vice President Joy Marcelo thanks everyone on Instagram Stories. She showed a glimpse of the dancers at Clark International Airport and said, “Best news today!” God help us. Rayver, Boobay, and Julie Anne are back in the Philippines safe and sound. In her last words, she begged everyone to keep praying for Israel.
A sigh of relief could be heard across the internet as celebrities and fans welcomed the stars back to the Philippines and shared their thoughts in the comments section of Sparkle GMA Artist Center’s Instagram post.
More than 1,100 people had already died in the war between Israel and Hamas by the time this piece was written, but there was still a chance that more fighting would happen.
In the middle of this sad story, the Philippine Embassy in Tel Aviv announced that seven Filipino citizens were still missing and that 22 lucky people had been saved by Israeli security forces in the Gaza Strip and were now in a safer place.
