The Grinch Musical in San Jose: Dr. Seuss Classic Tale Takes the Stage

The Grinch Musical in San Jose: How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss will be put on by Broadway San Jose at the Center for the Performing Arts (255 S. Almaden Blvd.), run by Nederlander Presentation. The Opera House. The 2023–2024 season of Broadway San Jose will be much better with this short run, which runs from November 28 to December 3, 2023. “100 times better than any bedtime story,” The New York Times said about this famous holiday musical. It’s sure to delight people of all ages.

Single tickets are now on sale and can be bought in several ways by people who want to secure their places.  You can also go to the San Jose Civic Box Office at 150 West San Carlos Street in San Jose to make your purchase in person. Note that ticket prices can change, so pre-booking is best.

The following is the schedule for THE GRINCH shows:
– Press night is Tuesday, November 28, at 7:30 p.m. and Wednesday, November 29, at the same time.
– Thursday, November 30th, at 7:30 p.m.
at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 1. At 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 2. At 1 and 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 3.

The crowd will be thrilled to see the well-known Christmas story by Dr. Seuss read live. Some famous songs in the show are “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” and “Welcome Christmas.” THE GRINCH goes on a beautiful journey and discovers that Christmas is even more magical than he had imagined. This classic story is told by Max the Dog, and it’s all about the grumpy GRINCH, whose heart is said to be “two sizes too small.” Watch as he comes up with a plan to steal Christmas from the Whos, who like the holiday spirit.

The Grinch has a fantastic track record. During its holiday runs at the St. James and Hilton houses in New York, it broke box office records on Broadway for two years in a row. Over 2.5 million people in the United States have loved this musical classic’s beautiful melodies and joyful mood. Gannett said, “What a brilliant show! A real treat for both adults and children.”

John Lee Beatty made the beautiful sets, and Robert Morgan got ideas for his outfits from the first Dr. Seuss book. The book and the show were written by Mel Marvin and Timothy Mason together, giving this old story a new life.

With Matt August as director and Bob Richard as dancer, the 2023 show looks like it will be amazing. They add to the dance by John DeLuca that three-time Tony Award-winning director Jack O’Brien made for the first time.
