Milpitas Weekend Policing Blitz: In a whirlwind of police activity, Milpitas officers were on high alert over the weekend, handling an array of incidents from assault charges to DUI arrests. The action-packed weekend unfolded with a midnight shift officer apprehending a woman from Stockton with a felony warrant for assault with a deadly weapon. Simultaneously, another officer, patrolling the quiet streets of a residential area, intercepted a 38-year-old San Jose woman, suspected of DUI with a noteworthy blood alcohol content of 0.19%, surpassing the legal limit.

Daylight hours proved equally eventful, with law enforcement converging on a 31-year-old San Jose man at a local shopping center. The individual, wanted on charges of criminal threats and weapon possession, was swiftly taken into custody and transported to Santa Clara County Main Jail. The roster of incidents grew as Milpitas officers responded to a hit-and-run involving a bicyclist, leading to the apprehension of a 55-year-old female suspect from Milpitas, booked for felony hit-and-run.

Not all suspects were caught in the act. A grocery store altercation earlier in the week saw a 55-year-old male assail a clerk and flee the scene. However, diligent police work by the midnight shift officers on Saturday resulted in his apprehension, with charges ranging from strong-armed robbery to a previous warrant for grand theft.

The sequence of events continued into Sunday, marked by a 44-year-old San Jose man stopped for a vehicle violation. The discovery of meth and paraphernalia, along with warrants for weapons and theft, led to his arrest. Meanwhile, residents raised concerns over a vehicle performing reckless “donuts” on S. Main St. The 38-year-old San Jose woman behind the wheel found herself arrested on DUI charges, marking the second such arrest by the department within the same dynamic weekend.
