Adam Page Says AEW Magic Has Returned as He Prepares for World Title Showdown at All In 2025

Published:

Adam Page, also known as “Hangman,” is positioned for a significant return to the AEW spotlight as he prepares to challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship at All In 2025 in Arlington, Texas. Following a turbulent period marked by intense battles with Swerve Strickland, Page aims to reclaim the top prize in AEW and restore prestige to the championship, which he believes has been symbolically sidelined as it remains locked away in a briefcase. This upcoming title match is not only a major event on AEW’s calendar but also a deeply personal milestone for Page.

Reflecting on Past Challenges and Lessons Learned

In a recent interview with SHAK Wrestling, Page offered a candid look back at his previous AEW World Championship reign from late 2021 through mid-2022. He admitted that although he was focused on winning the championship, he underestimated the challenges that come after achieving such a goal. Page explained that winning and then maintaining the championship require distinctly different mindsets and drives, something he now appreciates more fully. This time around, he intends to approach the opportunity with a fresh perspective built on experience.

“You know, I felt that I had worked so hard for so long to win the World Championship, and that is where my vision was. That’s all I thought about. But, I guess I probably did not take a lot of time in thinking what would happen the morning after, the week after, the month after. That is a different challenge. There’s a different kind of drive that a person would have to win something as opposed to hold it and keep it. I think that’s maybe the main difference and I feel that this time around in challenging for the World Championship, I kind of understand that difference a bit more, having been there before. So should I win at All In, I’ve got maybe a different approach this time.”

Page elaborated on how those reflections have influenced his mindset as he prepares for All In, underscoring a renewed readiness for the responsibility that comes with the title beyond just winning it.

The Journey Back to a Premier Spotlight

Page also revealed that reaching this pivotal moment was unexpected given the difficulties he faced in the three years since losing the championship. His goal has been to headline AEW’s biggest U.S. event, and now he finds himself fulfilling that ambition with high determination.

“Um, yeah, I did not expect to be in this position. As hard as I have tried for, I don’t know, it’s been three years, I guess, and I hadn’t gotten here. This is our biggest show in the U.S. ever, in North America ever and I’ll be headlining it and I intend to win the World Championship at it.So that’s the kind of thing I’ve tried to work towards for the past three years since I lost the championship, and to be honest, there’s a lot of times where I kind of thought that was it for me, you know, as far as these big opportunities, these big moments and you know a lot of that boils down to me, who I was, who I was deciding to be, and that kind of attitude that I had had did not lead me to these kind of opportunities unfortunately.Well, maybe, actually in this case, fortunately. Because now I do have the chance and you know, in some weird way, all of that will have been worth it, I assume.”

He candidly reflected on previous doubts about returning to high-profile matches, emphasizing personal growth as a key factor in his resurgence within AEW.

The Return of AEW’s “Magic” and Forward Momentum

Beyond his own career, Adam Page expressed optimism about AEW’s current direction. He shared that the company feels like it is regaining the energy and collaborative spirit that defined its early days. Page highlighted the collective ambition to create fresh, exciting content as a sign the company is moving upward once more.

“It very much does feel like, for me, personally, my experience week to week, a lot of the same kind of magic of those first few weeks and months of AEW TV… The sense of wanting to work together for a common goal. To make something good, exciting, new, fun, fresh. Yeah, the trajectory has felt upwards and I’m just gracious to still be here and still be a part of that.”

This sentiment underscores how AEW remains a dynamic environment, with momentum building as it prepares for one of its largest shows in North American wrestling history.

Path to the Title Opportunity: Winning the Owen Hart Cup

Adam Page earned his latest shot at the AEW World Championship by securing victory at the Owen Hart Cup tournament. His win over Will Ospreay in the event’s finals at Double or Nothing granted him a freshly earned chance at the title. This upcoming match at All In 2025 will mark Page’s first world title challenge since the Four-Way Match he competed in at Worlds End in late 2024, setting the stage for a highly anticipated showdown with Jon Moxley.

What Awaits Following All In 2025

The outcome of this championship match carries significance not only for Adam Page but for AEW’s broader narrative. A victory for Page could mark the restoration of pride in the championship, moving it out of symbolic storage and back into active, dynamic storytelling. Page’s renewed determination and evolved outlook as a former champion suggest that if successful, he will bring a different style of defense and leadership to the title. Regardless of the final result, his presence at the top of AEW signals exciting possibilities for the promotion’s future and the continuation of the “magic” he described regaining.
