Asher Keddie Strife Unveiled in Compelling Trailer

Asher Keddie Strife: Fans have received their first glimpse of Asher Keddie’s highly-anticipated comedy-drama “Strife” with the release of the official trailer.

The BINGE original series is set to premiere on December 6 and boasts a stellar cast, including Keddie, Matt Day, Jonathan LaPaglia, Tina Bursill, Emma Lung, and more.

The trailer offers a glimpse into the life of Evelyn Jones, a former magazine editor turned digital media powerhouse through her website Eve, portrayed by Keddie. As Evelyn navigates the ever-changing landscape of publishing, the challenges and joys of motherhood, and the end of her marriage to Jon, played by Day, viewers are invited into her perfectly imperfect world.

“Strife,” as suggested by the trailer, will delve into themes of female friendships and workplace dynamics. The series draws inspiration from the memoir “Work, Strife, Balance” by media mogul and Mamamia founder Mia Freedman. Australian screenwriter Sarah Scheller has adapted it for the screen, with production by Bruna Papandrea’s Made Up Stories in collaboration with the Foxtel Group, known for projects like “Big Little Lies,” “Nine Perfect Strangers,” “Penguin Bloom,” “The Dry,” and “The Undoing.”

In a recent interview with Marie Claire, Keddie explained her attraction to the show, emphasizing its relatability to women everywhere. She noted that the series revolves around ambition, with her character, Evelyn, not portraying Mia Freedman but a unique woman created for the show. Keddie hopes the show resonates with women in their forties who aspire to achieve more and offer more in their lives.

She made a conscious effort to showcase both Evelyn’s private victories and failures, allowing the audience to embark on a journey with the character rather than passively observing it.

Our Reader’s Queries

Is Strife based on Mia freedom?

Asher Keddie delivers an exceptional performance in the latest streaming series, Strife. The show is a fictionalized version of Mia Freedman’s memoir, co-founder of Mamamia. However, after watching the series, I couldn’t shake off the uneasy feeling it left me with.

Where is Strife filmed?

During the filming of Strife in Sydney, Asher’s family stayed back in Melbourne. Her “three boys” – husband Vincent Fantauzzo, stepson Luca, and son Valentino – missed her dearly. However, thanks to FaceTime, they were able to stay connected. Asher appreciates the convenience of video chatting and how it helped her stay in touch with her loved ones.

Does Asher Keddie have a lisp?

Although Keddie may not resemble Buttrose, she has mastered her voice perfectly. The tone is spot on, including the subtle Buttrose lisp, which is exactly what we anticipated.

What is the show Strife based on?

Although Strife is not a factual account, it draws inspiration from Freedman’s memoir Work Strife Balance, which was released in 2017. The novel is a work of fiction and not a biopic, as the creators were determined to avoid a direct adaptation of the book. Therefore, Strife is inspired by the memoir rather than being based on it.
