Blake Monroe, the former WWE NXT Women’s North American Champion, recently opened up about the prospect of making an appearance at WrestleMania, the premier event in professional wrestling. With WrestleMania 42 scheduled for April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, rising WWE stars like Monroe are intensifying their efforts for a chance to perform on this grand stage.
Monroe Reflects on Career Timing and Opportunity
During an interview on the Cheap Heat podcast with Peter Rosenberg, Monroe was asked whether she hopes to be part of the WrestleMania conversation this year or the next. She emphasized that her career has always been shaped by seizing the right moment rather than rushing ahead.
“Listen, that’s always a thought. I want to be at the top of WWE, I want to be the face of WWE, but I’m smart and my whole career has always been about timing,”
she said.
Monroe compared her situation to established stars on the WrestleMania card such as Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley, describing them as wrestlers with extensive television experience. She expressed confidence in her abilities but stressed the importance of building her reputation steadily within NXT, where she feels she is already a key attraction.
“I’ve been in NXT for not even a year, and it is my show. We talk about the titles, I don’t need one, I am the show,”
Monroe stated.
Looking Ahead to Upcoming Events and Rivalries
Monroe is focused on NXT’s upcoming event Stand & Deliver, which follows Vengeance Day and serves as a WrestleMania-level showcase for NXT talent. She highlighted the possibility of fighting for one of the two available titles or engaging in a high-profile feud. Monroe specifically mentioned a rivalry with fellow wrestler Jaida, which she anticipates becoming the standout match of Vengeance Day.

“Jaida and I, I’m going to bring her up and we will be the match of the night at Vengeance Day,”
Monroe said confidently.
Building Anticipation for a Future Main Roster Arrival
Monroe reflected on the excitement surrounding her potential return to the main roster, recalling the buzz at the Royal Rumble when fans eagerly awaited her appearance. She believes that this growing anticipation is vital for a successful transition to bigger platforms like WrestleMania.
“That means when I do go to the main roster, when I do enter the Rumble, when I do go to WrestleMania, these fans have been waiting for this, dying for this, and they’re going to be so excited,”
she shared.
If you try to rush things or you do it too soon, there is no anticipation, nobody cares, and that can never be me.
