Charlotte Pride Festival and Parade : The LGBTQ+ community’s greatest party, the Charlotte Pride Festival and Parade, is coming to Uptown Charlotte. This weekend-long event brings music, art, food, and entertainment to the town.
The South Tryon Street festival lasts two thrilling days. Saturday from noon to 11 p.m., Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. Instead, North Tryon Street will be filled with the sounds of the procession from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
On day one, Big Freedia and Trina will perform electrifying sets on the main stage. On Sunday, Greyson Chance and Cassidy King will energize the group.
This free concert has been running since 2001 for the fair and 2013 for the parade. It peaked in 2022 with 275,000 attendees who made history.

South Tryon Street between Morehead Street and Fourth Street is closed after 9 a.m.
East and West Good Samaritan Way (formerly Hill Street) is closed to automobiles.
Brooklyn Village Ave. (formerly Stonewall Ave.), Levine Avenue of the Arts, MLK Blvd., and Third Street will connect the east and west sides of the city.
Friday at 6 p.m., Levine Avenue of the Arts will be closed.
All east-west streets except Brooklyn Village Ave. will be empty by Saturday morning.
Tryon Street leads north to College Street and south to Church Street.
Sunday night at 11 p.m., Charlotte Pride streets will be cleaned.
For harmonic sounds, the Gay Men’s Chorus of Charlotte will perform at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church at 1510 E. 7th Street at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Wooden Robot holds a Pride launch party from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday at its NoDa sanctuary (416 E. 36th Street). The procession will begin with a lunch at its South End soiree (1440 South Tryon Street) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.
The Culture Shock Drag Brunch at Resident Culture Brewing delights drag aficionados. This show is at 332 W. Bland Street in South End from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Billy Sunday at Optimist Hall invites everyone to “After Pride,” a celebration that begins at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
On August 19 and 20, the Mint Museum Uptown at 500 South Tryon Street will be free to celebrate Charlotte Pride.
