Adam Copeland and Christian Cage are set to compete in a tag team match at AEW All Out on September 20, possibly with help from their former WWE ally Gangrel. The potential return of Gangrel could play a key role in their bid to defeat FTR during the upcoming pay-per-view event.
Copeland and Christian reunited recently in AEW, winning their first tag team match against Killswitch and Kip Sabian following their reunion at Forbidden Door 2025. After this victory, they challenged the well-established team FTR for a match at All Out. Gangrel, who was a member of The Brood with Edge and Christian during WWE’s Attitude Era in the late 1990s, could be poised to return to AEW to support them once again.
Gangrel contributed to Copeland’s win in his last AEW appearance at Double or Nothing 2024 by assisting in a steel cage match. Although primarily active on the independent circuit, Gangrel’s occasional AEW appearances keep the possibility open for involvement in this high-profile tag bout.
During the encounter with FTR, their associate Stokely is expected to use underhanded tactics to support Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler. To counteract this interference, Copeland and Christian might rely on Gangrel’s presence to even the odds and remove Stokely from the equation.
Fans are anticipating whether Gangrel will make his AEW comeback after more than a year away from the promotion.
FTR Promises to End WWE Legends’ Careers Ahead of All Out Match
Following the confirmation of the match between Adam Copeland, Christian Cage, and FTR at All Out, Dax Harwood made a strong statement pledging to end the careers of the WWE veterans. During a promo on AEW Collision, Harwood threatened not only their careers but also warned of more personal consequences for the duo known for their legacy in professional wrestling.
“This match no more is a dream match, this match is a charity exhibition for two men who made their name with three letters, 25 years ago, ‘TLC.’ And now you’re looking at the absolute best tag team of all time, who built their name on three letters, ‘FTR.’ Unfortunately, Adam [Copeland], unfortunately, Christian, we have to finally end your careers in your hometown in Toronto. Don’t make us end your life,” Harwood said.
The intensity of this rivalry adds further anticipation to what is expected to be a fiercely contested match at All Out 2025, with both sides aiming to cement their dominance in AEW’s evolving tag team landscape.
